Default 02 sensor

I have a 98 civic hb, the one with one 02sensor in top and another on the bottom. People say if your check engine is on and you find out it's your o2 sensor and if you don't fix it, it'll mess up your gas milege and your cat converter. well, its been about more than a week now but my gas milege is pretty much the same. Does that mean it probably isn't messing up my cat converter? The cat converter is pretty much all I'm worrying about. Honda quoted me like 240 for it and I'm not really in a hurry to pay that much if it isn't really that big of a deal or that it'll mess up my cat converter.

well if you arent noticing any change in gas mileage, chances are it isd still running ok. i am not saying that it will stay that way. but if it starts blinking, it will kill the cat. if you notice more than normal fuel usage, it will kill your converter. get it fixed. dont let it fester.

Give it time and it will mess up your cat converter..... and have you ever priced a new cat from honda? Let me tell you it's more than $240.............

Anyway, do a google search and find a place that sells o2 sensors, they are out there. If you don't have the tools to swap out o2 sensors then go to autozone and buy the $15 o2 socket. Stop making excuses!
