Default questions on a 200+whp daily driver setup??

i wanted to go with either crower 402's or 403's depending on how streetable the 403's are. would the 403's be too harsh for daily driving? im also going with full crower valvetrain as well.

i would also like to know wat would be a good piston to get the full potential out of those cams and would also be streetable?? i was thinking about ctr pistons but couldn't really find a clear answer as to if they were a daily driveable piston...?

this would all be going in my 00 ITR and my overall basic goal is to hit 200whp+ and be able to run high 13's to low 14's if possible, while still being daily driven 40+ miles a day.

i plan to tune this whole setup with a Power FC if that helps any.

any suggestions/comments would be great, so basically if you don't have anything positive to add, please don't post at all!! and yes i already know i posted this in the all motor forum as well, but i know theres a lot of good help here as well!!

Thanks. Alex.

I'd say go with some Skunk2 Stage 2's, Awesome cam's and they're streetable.

For a piston, Go wtih a PCT (ctr) OS piston. If you do that, and get a 3-layer head gasket, your compression should be around 12:0-12:2 and that is Streetable, espically if it is tuned right.

i've heard that the 402's and stage 2's are almost the same but the 402's make better mid-range and the stage 2's make better top end. any got anymore information?

so you think i should go with the PCT OS(oversized?) pistons with 3-layer head gasket? anyone else think this is a good setup??

Yes Oversized. .25 over, and get you'll have to get your block done as well. So your bore will be 81.25.

so you know, you don't need 200whp to hit 13's.. some people have done it w/ mid 170's + drag radials..

then 12's it is lol....

yes .25 oversized pistons and you're good... I hear wiseco makes some mean *** pistons too. I wouldn't get the ctr pistons due to their dome but thats just me. I dont have a lot of reasoning why, I just dont like the way the piston looks when I've seen flatter pistons make more power.

I'm running sk2 stg2 in my 215whp+ N/A setup and I love them. Idles perfect everyday, drives around town great and when I do stomp on it to pass a car on the highway it moves.....I put down 140tq. And I would do more tuning then just a power fc, I'm running a p28 tuned w/ crome pro and a V-AFC

You can either run ctr standard bore pistons or oversized .25 and the block will need to be bores .25....I had standard bore in my car before putting in the Endynes I;m running now and they ran great....Type R's love compression

if you go to a good place a bore SHOULD only take a day or two and cost about 100-200...... at least around here where i am thats the way it is

Unless there's a problem with your bottom end I wouldn't touch it. You can make a lot of power on a stock bottom end with a nice head and cams. You'll need a good header to hit that number also.

^ Keep bottom end stock. If you do decide to build it, don't use the CTR's. You can make more power with a flater piston with lower CR.

Have you looked at Rocket Motorsports cams? If not, look into the M22X's. Another R owner has them with a ported head and stock block and made 220+whp.

Whichever way you go, get a header made AFTER you get the cams. Header builders use cam specs when designing the header.

No, it's not good to at all. The pistons are gonna be perfectly round seeing how they are brand new. But your block is used, and has some wear and tear no matter what. And that means thats your block is not gonna be perfectly round liek the piston, So the best and the safest way si to re-bore/hone your block.
