Default Looking for amp and sub recommendations...

I'm doing a little research for a project that I'm gonna work on this summer. I'm planning on building a fiberglass enclosure to go in my spare tire well. It will hold either two 8" subs, two 10" subs, or one 12" sub. I'm looking for recommendations because I'm not a stereo guy. I know how to install decks and amps and whatnot, no problem. I just don't know what brands/model of subs are good, and what amps would work well with them. I'm not looking for pounding bass. I just want a little bit of bass to go with my upgraded factory speakers. Also, I'm not trying to break the bank either.

So, basically what I'm looking for are some good sub/amp combinations, and about how many cubic feet the sub(s) require as this will play an important role in determining which sub(s) to get. I think I'll probably have about 1.5 cubic feet total to work with. I may even be able to push that to two if necessary.

thanks,
Brent

Hmm... I don't know exactly how much I want to spend, but I'm sure it'll be less than $1000. Probably more like $300-500.

I've already got a head unit, so that doesn't matter. After looking around, I realized that if I want to get something decent then I'm gonna have to spend a little more. I'm thinkin I might go with one 10" W6, so what would be a good amp to push it?

my 12" image dynamics IDQv1 dual 4ohm.

$100 shipped

never been used, just slight scratches on the bottom plate.

i'm sure someone else can clue you in about this sub

If you plan to get the 10w6, you will want an amp that is stable down to 2ohm (3ohm in parallel, but its easier to find spec at 2ohm) and puts out about 500w at 2ohm. So when the amp sees 3ohm, it'll put around a theoretical 325w or so.

Likewise, there are a million amps out there that are able to put out that much. Do you have any preference in brand?

NEVER buy used audio equipment. and "REFURBiSHED" means some **** happened to it to cause it from functioning correctly. check this out for an example... even though it's "fixed" why do cars carry "accident" titles even thought they've been "fixed"? go figure.
