Default full pin, then BANG with smoke...............like a GUN SHOT

I was doing a burn in 2nd gears,,, spun all the way to 9000RPM and just when I was going to shift,,, I herd a CRAZY loud BANG,, just one,, then looked behind me and saw tons of smoke...

I was really scrared but the motor seems fine... and runs perfect!

Is that my cut off? I have AEM EMS,, im really new to the set up so im not sure..
I just wanna made sure everything is fine and why did it do a crazy LOUD BANG like a gun shot
thanks
Tyler

Um, why exactly are you doing that if you don't know what is going on with your motor. It seems like it was a rev limit and you were running rich, and just got a nice backfire.

it was just a back fire since there was too much gas?

its not good to hit the rev limiter cause it leans out.

No it doesn't. Stock Honda ECU rev limtier is a fuel cut yes, but it completely cuts fuel. How will you run lean when there is no fuel to even combust a lean mixture.

Because the injector isn't in the cylinder...

This is interesting topic. Is the motor in danger during fuel cut on rev limiter because it's running lean?

The only REAL danger I could see is that upon coming off the limtier, it's sparking on the cylidner that has no fuel maybe? Either way ppl ahve been bouncing off stock limiters for years and donig jsut fine danger or not... If it scares you that much jsut get an aftermarket rev limit setup to cut ignition instead of fuel. that way is safe(er)

He has an Aem Ems per the first post... so its not like he is bumping the stock fuel cut or whatnot.

Probably a backfire as said above... my friends boosted teg runs nice n rich and it will give a good bang w/ a puff of smoke/ flame out the poop shoot when shifts or whatnot.
