Your transmission unless you build a hybrid transmission utilizing SI/ZC parts.

If it is hydraulic it is not going to bolt in without a custom mount and clutch actuation system.

Your gaining more than just nothing. Your gaining the exact same thing as apposed to swaping in a hf tranny or something else. Its probably the next best thing if not better.

Let me get this straight, by swapping in the S20 transmission you will gain <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by UltimX &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">the exact same thing </TD></TR></TABLE> Now explain to me how it is the same if it requires you to develop a front engine mount, custom fabricate a new side mount, and a new clutch activation mechanism?

Do you know why i even suggested this?

You don't need to develop a front engine mount and custom side mount. lol... your pathetic.....

Spend some time on learning why i suggested this.

Also, He never said he wanted to keep the cable, he also didn't say he hydro either... So shut up.

So you see: A newer transmission that will go right in.
I see: A newer transmission that won't go right in to the chassis that has weak shift forks.
When weighing in the pros/cons of what is the best you have to look at the cost/final product ratio. If you take a SI L3 Cable transmission (approximately $90~ local) you bolt it onto the motor, put eveything back together, and you are done. Final cost, $90 + MTF + 2-3 hours of your time. Take the S20 you have $160, bolt it on to the motor, and then you have your fabrication work. But where is the real world gain? This still has not been brought forth. The only S20 that I would even dream about going through all this trouble for would be the one that came attached to the OBD-1 ZC which had a 4.4FD and had an optional LSD.

Best OEM Cable Combination for ACCELERATION:
89-91 JDM INTEGRA SOHC ZC 4.437 FD + 89-91 JDM DOHC ZC 1-4 gears
PLUS OEM LSD
IT would probably take a few years to build it just TO FIND ALL THE PARTS!!!
I'm running the SOHC ZC 4.437 FD open diff
with a short light wheel & tire combo - It's bananas!
YOU could build a quicker box with aftermarket FD's and LSDs but prices go WAY UP

Well atleast you got the idea of why I suggested this. He never said anything about cost or anything... plain and simple. It was just an alternative to something other people already said, that being the l3 SI transmition. Its also funny you suggesteded that it was the same transmition when I was talking about some other. That being said, I should of said s20 and not ex, but I figured people would be smarter than just saying its the same tranny and be a little more open minded. Not that it ever hurt anyone but most people think inside of the box, so maybe the starter of the post should of specified that what his price range and options where. Also maybe you should of been a little more open minded and thought, "maybe he means some other transmition?" but thats just me. I'm through arguing over the internet. It's pointless. With that being said, if you want to bash me and continue to show everyone else the intelligence you have, go right ahead, I don't care.
