Default what went wrong the first time you fired up you newly turboed car?

After almost 2 years of gathering information, scavenging junkyards, countless ht transactions, I should be turboed this weekend.

My car is a 1990 integra rs, with original motor at about 150k miles. I'm not expecting the engine to last very long, but im hoping not to encounter too many problems.

i'll be running turbo edit with a safc2.

anyways enough of my stuff... what happend the first time you guys fired up your car. most people say you run into little problems, boost leaks, etc.

hopefully enough people respond incase I have a problem that way i can narrow it down.

make sure you have oil in your oil lines before you fire up the car

my biggest problem was blowing off charge pipes... ohh and a problem i didnt realize for about 3 months was i had a shitty oil return and could of used a oil line restrictor.

oil pan leaked...i replaced the gasket 3 times...the first 2 times i torqued all the nuts to spec, and it still leaked. The 3rd time, i hand tightened them until i saw the gasket squeeze out the side a little, then stopped...works fine now.

I just boosted about a week ago and my remanufactured turbo is leaking oil from the exhaust housing. Looks like it is coming out of a bolt from the turbo but the bolt is tight I am using a restrictor and i think my oil return line MAY have somethingto do with it. Also my oil feed and oil return fiting have a slight leak.

Other than that my car idled at 1500rpms at cold start and 800rpms on a uberdata basemap when warmed up

nothing smells more like crap than oil burning on a turbo.. run a really big return line... like one with an opening 1/2 inch wide, i wouldnt restrict oil to the turbo since thats basically its life line, but instead just allow the oil to get out fast with a bigger return line
