Default H22a Idle Issues with p72 and hondata s200

My h22 idled fine with the p13 before the p72 and hondata, but now im having some issues.

Not that its a huge deal, but the car will 80% of the time idle like it should, but then sometimes it will drop down to below 500 rpm, sometimes it drops from idling, and sometimes it does this when i put the clutch in....and right when i start driving, when i put the clutch in, sometimes it goes so low it just stalls out....

Then sometimes it will just idle at like 1500 rpm randomly, it did it today for about 10 minutes, and then went back to normal. It just raises up from idle slowly to 1500 and hovers there, sometimes coming slowly back down, and sometimes just staying for a bit. This also happens sometimes when i put the clutch in and it drops from a higher rpm.

The only thing I can think of is maybe the p72 IACV is a bit different, and its having trouble controlling the idle with this one. To just supply info, i have the FITV disconnected and blocked off....it was like that with the p13 and idled fine.

Thanks in advance guys

A buddy of mine had his FITV blocked off and his car would run ok on certain days... and like **** on others. It would idle from 1k-2k. This was on a b18c (jdm gsr). We hooked all the coolant lines up like they were supposed to be over the weekend and it's ran A-OK since. I would probably do the same if I were you.

After I did my P28/Crome setup, I had the exact same problem. Once I cleaned the IACV out thoroughly and hooked it all back up, 90% of my idle problems went away. I don't know why it didn't misbehave with the stock ECU, but the problem only appeared after the ECU swap.

Hondata over-rides this. I'm assuming everything was tuned when I say this...

I had that problem also, and mine was tuned! What I noticed is that mine does it only if I put a lot of electrical load on the engine. Example, if I have high-beams on, and the electric fan turns on, it does it.

So how did I solve it? For me, I just lived with it, and adjusted my idle to 1000RPM w/ everything off (headlights, a/c, etc). That way when I have everything on, it goes down to 700rpmish at most, and I'm ok.

My f23/h22 is idling perfect on my p72 w/hondata.... And it has a tune for a supercharged gsr with 440cc... I'm running a little rich but the idle doesn't move at all

hmmm....i guess i am reconnecting the FITV tommorrow then.....and i might as well clean out the IACV anyways.....

you guys really dont think theres a noticeable difference in air temps with the FITV connected, do you.....summer is just coming so im trying to keep temps low...

since sam's car is ok then im assuming there are no issues with the IACV mismatch....

thanks a lot for the info
