What in your opinion is the best tig welder?
I'm looking to purchase a tig welder. These are the two I'm looking at:
Lincoln Precision TIG 185, Miller SYNCROWAVE 180 SD.
If you suggest another, Let me know. I want to weld aluminum. I had a Miller SYNCROWAVE 180 SD. It was an older model. It didn't have a high frequency controller. The new one does. I couldn't get a good bead with aluminum. I want one that will weld aluminum. Let me know what you suggest.

Yeah, there's a thread about these machines and I put in a lot of details about specs and stuff.
In the end, it's my opinion that Lincoln would suck ***** if it had some. I used to like Lincoln...till I experienced owning one and the poor customer service they have.
MILLER!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Buy the 180SD or even better...find a used 250 syncrowave for the same price.. It's a Miller, it doesn't matter if it's old, it will be fine!!

anyone used the HTP invertig 201.
i've read some good posts about it. 200amp. only draws 30 amps from 230v.
they are like $2300 complete. and weighs like 50 pounds.

the machine can only do so much, actuall weld quality depends on the person using the machine. but i'll go ahead and raise the true blue flag my machine is a early 90's miller diarc hf

I almost bought the invertig ~3yrs ago but they were 2 months backordered and I needed to get my car finished. They are cool machines, but HTP is a small company and I worry about long-term product support...
Ended up with a Miller Maxstar 200DX and I'm very happy with it. If it ever breaks, there are like 5 local miller dealers that can fix/get it fixed.

Since you didn't give a budget, I'm sure we can come up with a $8000 kick-*** machine somewhere. You need to give a price range or the question's pointless.
