Default Falkin Azenis for ITR... any good? Size?

Looking to order a set of Falkin Azenis for my ITR. Heard from a few people that they're good for the money.

195/50VR15, or 205/55VR15, and why?
They are going on my 15x6.5" Spoon wheels.

What's the cheapest price anyone has gotten them for, and from where?

TIA.

They look nice!
That stack sits about 2 5/8 inch higher than the AVSi 's sitting next to it.
(in my appt.)

205/50VR15 b/c they are bigger than the 195's

The Azenis is a great tire for the $$ but they are awfully hard to find

Just ordered a set from Discount Tire. Came out to $279.92 or something, shipped from their Ohio warehouse.

205/50VR15

I hope they work well.....

I finally saw a set of Azenis in real life... and all I can say is, "THEY ARE AWESOME!" I would definitely put 'em on my car if I don't do 50+ miles daily driving.

Any real high performance tire will wear quickly, and most cost more too boot.

Chances are that if it has any more than a 20k mile warranty, it's a brick compared to the stock rubber.

Because in the trade off between sticky adn durable - Falken chose sticky. And that is why we all want them...

When I bought mine Discount Tire was able to get them in 3 days from one of their warehouses. I have about 6K miles on them now, and expect to get 10K total (comparable to the stockers). Once the tread starts to wear you have to be careful in the rain though. (BTW I paid around $330 out the door including everything .)

So average of a one track event a month along with low to moderate daily driving, how many miles should one expect these tires to last?

i got 4 track days, 4 autox, and ~ road 6000 miles on mine. they still like new, except along the outside edge. This sundays autox was held in the rain w/ some big puddles, but no hydroplaning

yoshi - who did do some drift turns on his 1st run just for the fun of it

Yeah, they look like they'd wear pretty quick (translation... very gummy!). Also, where I live, we do get some nasty T-storms where the roads pretty much floods. (no, I'm not in Seattle at thie time, t r Steve C. ) There's no way I'd drive the Azenis in those rainy days. I chose Kumho 712's for my daily driving, year-around tires (good wet-traction + good enough grip for streets).
However, I'll pick up a set of Azenis for summer only + autoX tires.

ive gotten over a year and almost 15,000 miles out of my AVS Intermediates and those have a lower treadwear rating to these....160 compared to 200....the AVS'is have some tread left but they arent sticky at all anymore

A friend of nice just had some put on his 240SX size 215/45/16 at Sears. The 205/50/15 is much cheaper. I believe his were around $108 per tire.

You can't compare two different manufacturers' treading rating. Just like how Azenis 205/50/15's are more like 215+/50/15's...

Discount tire direct is officially out of 205/50/15. The website says they are in stock but they're not. I went to the store yesterday and they said the wharehouse was out and I just called the online store and they said no more. "Backordered from Japan two month wait." The search will continue..

I always thought these were track only tires. Anybody try driving with these in the snow?

Who drives thier Type R in the snow? We should shoot them....

Seriously though, a $500 beater is the best mod you can buy for your ITR.

What's wrong with $500 snow tires for the ITR? I just cant get myself to drive anything else even if I could.

Oh man, I just got the Email from Discount Tire telling me that they're out of stock, even though the site said the Ohio warehouse had some. Them liars.... They said it's backordered for 2 to 3 weeks. Belts are showing on my stock tires, so I need something soon.

Anyone else know of any places I can get them relatively inexpensive? $62/tire from Discount Tire is really a steal....

I used to be the same, but now I've got a beater Subaru that I use for a commuter.

Now that the ITR is a garage queen five days a week, I find that I enjoy the car more. All the time I spend behind the wheel is spent going fast (OK, most of the time ), whereas before I would sit in traffic each moning listening to my loud engine and bouncing violently over every bump. The car was really getting old from that, now I appreciate it more.

Besides, the car just doesn't feel right on Paradas, I can't imagine how it would feel on snow tires with no grip and a Nerf sidewall. Good tires make all the difference in the world on this car.

I've only had my car for about a year so maybe I haven't reached the stage your in yet.

I definitely agree with you. I recently got some Nokian NRW's installed and I feel like the car is floating on the off/on ramps. But back on-topic. I've not heard one bad comment about the Falken Azenis so i'm in on the next shipment.
