Mid Ohio pixors/video/review...
Thanks to Erik95LS for the pixors/video
I hope it goes better next time we go to the track
Okee this was my first time at MO and boy was I nervous, walls everywhere on this track and it was super intimidating at first. That being said as soon as I got out for some fast laps that all went away. This track is amazing and really rewards taking good lines, your working the whole time your on the track, no time to slack off. Heavy braking zones, blind turns, places where you feel like your gonna get airborne it's all just sooo amazing. Definitely the best track I've been on yet and I can't wait to go back.
Not only was this my first time at MO it was my first event w/ the Spoon clappers and Cobalt Spec VRs on. Do I think they were worth it? Yes, 100% yes. Two day event ~180 miles on the track and absolutely no fade
They really inspire a lot of confidence too, you find yourself braking later and later w/o any drama. The modulation is great, you really feel in control of what the brakes are doing. I would highly recommend this combo
Pixors (thanks again Erik)

Was this with the No Ohio BMW Club? I am be with them at the end of May and am curious how you found the people/drivers, places to stay/eat and where to get shade for car/driver between sessions? I've seen the SCCA National Runoffs televised numerous times and am very anxious to try the track myself. Did you see any non-street cars on the track, or was it strickly street-eligible cars? Thanks for any input, and glad you enjoyed yourself.

YOU SUCK. You're supposed to be at the Integra Type R Expo that weekend.

But really, keN SaX (nsxtasy) runs with that BMW club every year, and is an instructor. He seems to like them a lot. He'll be there, likely in his PY ITR.
Buckeye BMWCCA also runs there yearly, I went with them last year in October. Too many BMWCCA regions

That corner is called Madness and it is exactly that. You're on throttle through it though. That video doesn't even somewhat do the elevation change justice. Its amazing
Everyone needs to drive Mid-Ohio at least once in tehir lifetime

I created a separate topic with my notes from the event, because I learned a lot and I also was well prepared for the miles I put on the car. Lots o' miles.

Yes. The chapter website is here. I think they put on a great event - well organized, great classroom instruction, etc.

I'll be there again that weekend. I would have liked to go to the ITR Expo too, but you can't be in two places at the same time, oh well.

The people are cool. There is always a wide variety of cars, not all BMWs. My student was in a race prepped Prelude.
Where to stay? See this topic. I believe the headquarters hotel, where a lot of the track event participants stay, is the Quality Inn, which was formerly called the Ramada Limited. It's nice, but a bit pricey. The Travelodge and the Super 8 at Hanley Road are less expensive.
Where to eat? That depends on what you are interested in. There are fast food restaurants all over. There are some chain sit-down restaurants (Red Lobster, Chili's) in the shopping area on the northwest side of Mansfield (NOT close to the hotels off I-71 most folks stay at). IM me if you have something specific in mind; I'm pretty familiar with the dining scene there.
There is no shade in the main paddock area. The next paddock area up (closer to the entrance) has a bit of shade if you park along the edges, where there are trees; get there early to get a shaded pit area. Or, you can rent a garage for $175 for the weekend, and split it with someone else (the garage holds two cars).

All the cars there were street legal, AFAIK.
