maintenance required light

Have a 97 honda civic lx. and my "maintenance required" light turned from green to orange/red. Any one know what that means?

It means the gears clicked it over
The wheel is connected to the odometer and rolls along with it.
As long as you keep up on general maint. you can just reset it by sticking something in that little slot (key).

so that means its nothign to worry abt... and just a normal thing that comeson after a certain fixed amount of mileage in the car?

correct, just means oil change pretty much, it rolls over @ every 3-4000 miles

Yep...it's a light reminding you to go to honda and have them assrape you for repairs you don't need. Change your oil every 3k, replace timing belt every 90k, and replace everything else when it breaks.
