Default Replacing the "Backing plate" of Trailing Arms and Rear Axle

on a 92 EG Si...
I want to replace the rear discs, pads, bushings and shocks. When I disassemebled the rear arms from the car, I noticed a part of the trailing arm is all rusted. The trailing arm itself is fine. But where the caliper mounting bracket mounts and rear axle is mounted to, there is a seperate "backing plate", which is all rusted. Now, I can't find the name or part# of the piece I need to replace. I have only checked a few sites and Honda's manual. This part resides on the outside face the trailing arm is attached to the trailing arm by four t-50 bolts accessible from the inside. What's is the name of this part? Will I be able to purchase it as a seperate? So far, I think my only option would be to replace the entire trailing arm. At $214 each, I would rather not. Any ideas or information would be appreciated. Mickey

....there is no rear axle

Do you mean the shield (34/35 in the diagram)?

Or is it something in here

Do you mean the backing plate for the rotor? I don't see a problem with it being rusted as long as it still turns.

Just behind the shield (34/35) and on the trailing arm (14/15), you will find the spindle where the hub rotates around. The spindle is attached to the trailing arm on a metal plate that is attached to the trailing arm with those t-50 bolts. It is that metal plate that is badly rusted.

That same metal plate provides mounts for caliper mounting bracket.

sure it's not something that can be sanded or sand-blasted and clearcoated?

If I can't order a replacement, that might be my only option...

Thanks everyone.
