Anyone With A Rsx Every Driven Or Had A Type R?
Ok so im selling my itr soon, im looking for another car, i really like S2000's but i just dont think its the right car now, im finishing college up, i need a good comfortable daily driver, also with a nice trunk for my supplies
so im looking at new rsx type s's i like the way they look, there pretty quick i hear with a few simple mods, i dont race anymore or anything, but its always nice to have a little power
thing is i have some really nice back roads near my house and i love taking my itr and having some fun, not really ******* it just some spirted driving
do type s's handle well, are they nimble and quick like itr's, i always liked the quick steering and nimble feel of the car
with the rsx id get a nice set of coilovers, brand not sure, and prob front and rear strut bars and thats about it, then probally a intake and exhaust, and maybe a big maybe some rims, 17's no bigger than stock, but probally not i really like the new stock rims
so are type s's or can they be as nimble and quick as itr's?

I personally haven't driven the itr. But I can tell you the Stock RSX-S has excellent handling for the "back roads" my friends and I run. And looking at the mods you're gonna add, I'm sure you gonna have great deal of fun with it. Why wait, go test drive one now.
ps: pm me if you want some clips of the "back road" that we run

because my car is loud, bumpy, yellow, attracts way to much attention, its yellow, its not a good daily driver, i dont like leaving it at school, iv had it for three years, and i had 2 other integras before the itr so im a little tired of integras, its time for a change
EP3tune2RULE what backroads are you talking about? where in md do you live? i live in the whitemarsh perry hall area, i love going down to lochraven and all those roads adn just driving

is the car paid off or close to being paid off? if it is then don't sell it. its very convenient to have another car to just rack miles on and beat up at the race track because i know you're not gonna want to do that with your new car. trust me i had an integra before i bought my RSX and now i regret selling it.
I have driven a Type-r before and now i own a rsx type-s. And a far as handling goes the type-r wins hands down. The handling on a stock rsx is very poor from the factory. Now when you add better suspension and strut bars, the rsx is a great handling car, i handles the turns 100% better than it did from the factory.
no its not paid off yet, i still owe like 7500, and i whouldnt keep my itr as a daily driver adn then buy another car, id buy another cheap car and weekend drive the itr if i could, i dont intend on going to the track or the strip anymore
and i dont need a great handling car, iv had that with my itr and i absolutly loved it, thats why in about a year when im out of college and iv bought my new house im going to buy another type r, this time a black one, i love my itr and dont think after this year of selling it and not having it i will be without one for a long long time
for now im looking for a comfortable, quiet, smooth riding, spacious, non cop attracting car, iv gotton pulled over 3 times in the past month for not having my front tag, its bullshit, i dont like yellow anymore
and threw my searching iv found that a few well places suspension mods make these cars handle well and still have a nice smooth comfortable ride

A friend of mine owns both, and he put it to me very logically one day...he basically said that the RSX Type-S was what Honda Intended the USDM acura name plate to fully be...a well balanced car between function, performance and luxury...the Integra Type-R is a very raw car (as you probobly know seeing as how you own one)...the RSX Type-S is like if you took an Integra Type-R and mated it with a TSX. You lose a little in the performance side, you gain more comfort.
And your first comment about the S2000...i can certainly say if your looking for a comfortable daily driver, you are on the right track steering away from it...its even more raw than the ITR.

Well i havnt driven one.....but yesterday at an intersection i gave a guy in a yellow ITR a thumbs up. Well he gave me a thumbs down. Either he didnt like mine, or he didnt think his was worth the thumbs up....
Man, what are you doing???
The breaking and handling on the Type R is awesome compared to the Type S, the Type R is still faster than the 210HP 05 model as well.
I just got my 05 Type S. I LOVE it. But if I could have my Type R back... man, I'd drop the Type S.
Actually, if you don't appreciate the bumpyness or the R, then maybe you should sell it for the S, so someone who would appreciate the Type R more could have it ^^
I would get a new type R if they sold them... but they don't... so I settled for the S... (I don't buy honda's used.)
If anything, go for a s2000

*additional edit* say good bye to the roar of type R vtec, you won't get as much of that vtec kick anymore.

I have also been having the same thoughts. My ITR is yellow as well and it is my daily driver. It has recently been vandalized for the third time since i got it 2 years ago. I love the car to death especially how it performs. I test drove the 05 RSX and it really didn't feel as exciting as driving the R. As i was driving, i felt like i was betraying my R. But having to deal with just the cosmetic upkeep due to the attention it gets makes me think of letting it go...

I owned a Type-S and drove an ITR. The ITR didn't feel as fast, maybe cuz I wasn't reving it high enough. I think the ITR handles better than my old Type-S. I like the K20A2 and the 6th gear.
I've owned both and will tell you..the Type-S is still not as "Go-Kart" feeling as the ITR.
The Tightness was a noticeable diffrence as far as handling goes.
Speed wise...thats tough to say.All I had done motor wise to the RSXS was SKunk2 Exhaust and Injen SRI.
Itr I had only a J's Racing intake.I'm sure the ITR is a tad faster but that is due to the weight diffrence
The K20 when I had it..everyone was still all about the b18C5 and nothing was really out for the DC5 @ that point..I got rid of it by the time hondatat and all the really POWER mods started coming out,...but now...EVERYTHING has opened up and the k20 is to be reckoned with! With all the mods avaliable it can bypass an ITR w/ less mods I'm sure power wise.
I just got a video of the new RSXS w/ a I/H/E and its beating Stock S2000's,Modded SRT-4,and even an EVO.
(its a silver/grey 5 RSX-S,w/a Crbon ITR wing on it and thats it)
When I owned my RSX-S...pic's taken next to DC2's everyone was like "damn I love the DC2" or "look how much of a bubble the DC5 is compared to a DC2"...which is true..but I liked my RSX but LOVED my ITR.
I love the new look of the DC5...but DC2 is a classic.
I personally wouldn't switch up but I do understand about the attention and the theft issues w. owning an ITR.
heres an Old pic I found of when everyone was saying those comments:

this was in 01 i think.
its your decision but the ITR is a collector in my eyes...but I made money off my ITR so I had to let it go.Reading stuff on here did make me paronoid as hell...and there was really no reason to be where I live.
RSX-S was great to me...the suspension/engine is def diffrent then the ITR so that will take some getting use to.
Good luck on your decision.
I never got to track either cars...Wish i did w/ the ITR but w/ spirited driving...the ITR was a car on rails (only had H&R spring springs w/ front and rear Strut bars..so bascially stock).
RSX-S was stock w/ Skunk2 Coilovers and would get it to bottom out w/ suspension travel very easily. That was all I hate about it.It sounded NASTY!

cool! TSX
I'm thinking bout getting one for myself. Definitely a great car for a college student. I doubt you'll be able to take the back roads with that tho..

I've had some thoughts on selling my ITR as well, but when it came down to it, I just couldn't do it. I love it too much. The Type-S is a nice car, but trading your ITR for it is just crazy talk. You'll regret it.
i have a rsx and they handle damn good ive put mine through some hard turns and it holds damn good for stock and i only have the base modle so i think the type s would only be beter
I've driven both and I have to say I love the ITR more just because of the seating position and road feel. The RSX is numb but I got used to it, but it makes a "quick" comfortable daily driver... but machpherson sucks... I wasn't thinking when I got my car... lol... but it's pretty good still overall. I've kept up with some of the r-speed ****** on track
