Whos Doin a REAL buildup on their lude
I know me and JG are both goin for 12's with nitrous but who else is goin for crazy power out of their lude. Just curious and glad to see some more interest in makin our ludes fast as nutz.
I'm shooting for mid 12's on slicks, but then again I don't really own a Prelude. Does the same powerplant count?
I'm not sure if this counts, but I know that there are a few of us trying to make them damn fast around turns too. My focus has been on the suspension, but when the motor gets tired, it will surely be rebuilt NA style.

I am not going to far into my setup, but when it is done, I plan on being below the 12's! After I have completed my build up, got a couple of time slips behind me, and a dyno chart to show my Lude's power, I might post what I am running!
Anybody know who has the fastest Lude? Not that joker on hondaprelude.com! 9.9 and no need for a roll cage. I don't know if any of you guys have been looking at the new rules, but basically you can run with no carpet and only a drivers seat. See ya out there!

I'm aiming for 350whp reliable. I've never taken my car to a drag strip and I doubt I ever will. I do road track events, but since I didn't plan my car around any race rules it's not competetive. Actually I'm figuring it's going to more of a death trap than a competitive road track car.
I haven't decided everything I want to do yet, but I'm aiming for under 12's. I do know that as soon as the cash is saved up, (wich is now gonna be hard being unemployed and all, I'm currently living off my car savings) I'm going full Jun all motor. Right now I'm still basically stock w/200hp.
Wow, them jun motors are how many grand???
Do you know how much HP a prelude needs to run 11's?! Turbo/allmotor is irrelevant.
I'm not trying to smash your dream, but it's not forseeable in an allmotor prelude.

12's, N/A, even in a stripped car, are hard.
11's, N/A, in a Lude, almost impossible unless fully track prepared, and basically un streetable. I'm not saying completely impossible, but it's not going to be done on just some JUN parts.

Um if you notice in his sig it says turbo in the works. He says nothin about N/A. I am shootin for about 400 whp. Lets see how long my stock tranny is gonna last.
Props to all trying for 12's or under. I don't have the cash flow since I just did a swap. I must be in high 14's right now, I'm waiting to get a EK and swap a B16A and go for high 13's, hopefully sometime within a couple years... Good luck to all y'all - wait, I'm not southern...
I am kinda curious, has anyone with a Lude ran 10's? I was thinking of trying to do it with a huge shot of nitrous down the road, but not sure if its really possible, or even woth while. About how much HP would it take to run 10's on slicks? I know that Supra's with about 650hp run 11's, and they are heavier than the Lude by a few hundred pounds. Although it is a tad bit easier to get 650hp out of a Supra than it is with a Lude. I would bet that a Lude with 600whp would be crazy fast. Does anyone here have that much HP under the hood of your Lude?
i'm building a turbo h22.
golden eagle,
endyn lo-comp pistons,
t4. . .
blah blah blah.
on race gas, we're expecting a little over 400 hp.
but i'm not a lude. . .

This is a project car and mostly raced in autox and road racing. It was a na setup for a while, played with nitrous for a while, and now is fully rebuilt for a turbo. Plans are to run 300-350 hp at wheels but have capabilty to put down 450+ on the dyno with changes to engine management system. The engine and chassis is a 92 Si Prelude with H23A.
The motor is bored and sleeved .020 over, JE Pistons 9.0:1, JE XC rings, Crower rods, all new bearings, balanced and micropolished crank, new H20 pump, new oil pump, new belts, and new OEM gaskets and seals, Fully rebuilt head, stock cams for now, got rid of the custom na race cams, STR cam gears, STR fuel rail, STR cam seal, RC Engineering bored TB, Moroso aluminum oil pan, UR pulley for alternator only. EGR system removed with block off plate. All hose nipple drilled out and tapped for AN fittings ( all coolant hoses will be SS braided from Goodridge) Oil filter relocation with Canton billet oil filter and Fluidyne oil cooler. Billet fuel filter Paxton fuel pump and FPR and SS braided lines. Debating about a fuel cell 16 gallon from ATL. Howe aluminum racing radiator 19x26 and Canton expansion tank with FAL twin fans. Fidanza flywheel, ACT Xtreme clutch, 4 puck race disk, Quaiffe differential and rebuilt tranny. WIll be getting STR scatter shield also. C's short shifter with Sparco shift ****.ABS has been totally bypassed and removed. SS brake lines, KVR cross drilled rotors and carbon fiber pads used up till now. Deciding on new brake system with Wilwood or Spoon calipers. Nothing too large in the rotor department because 17" wheels will not be used all of the time. Also 3" extended wheel studs installed.
As far as the turbo goes.....FMAX manifold, XS Engineering T04X turbo, Tial 40mm wastegate and BOV, custom piping with Wiggins couplings and XS FMIC. Piping has not been fabricated yet as the motor is not in the car. Plans are for custom SS downpipe, Titanium HKS universal muffler, and SS or titanium piping with minimal bends. That was the reasoning behind the fuel cell so it could be mounted in the trunk, stock fuel tank would come out, and the piping for exhaust could go staight back and have one bend, approx 45 deg under trunk and exit N1 style near the stock location. Also under braces could be installed for chassis rigidity where the stock fuel tank was.
On to the chassis......used to have Koni adjustable shocks and race spings but those have already been sold. Going to a TEIN coilover set up. Neuspeed sway bars front and back already installed. Rear strut brace out of SS 2" tubing welded in. Front strut brace will be custom 3 point syle with aluminum rods and spherical end links. Full Energy Suspension poly bushing kit installed. All sheet metal spot welds have been stitch welded for rigidity. AS of right now ans Autopower full chromoly race roll cage is installed but may go with a custom made one later. A single Sparco Evo seat, aluminum mounts, and 3" Sparco Sabelt 5 point harness installed. Had Momo steering wheel but changing to Sparco with quick release mechanism. Auto meter tach ditched in favor of Apexi EL tach. Apexi boost gauge. Autometer 2 5/8" Ultralite gauges for Oil pressure, oil temp, water temp, and fuel pressure. These are currently installed in custom aluminum panel where that rediculous wannabe glove box used to be. Or should I call it owners manual box because that's all that would fit in there. The rest of the interior has been totally gutted, sound deadening removed and sprayed over in black temp resistent paint. The dash does remain but without the gauge cluster. A a/f meter with injector duty meter intalled in drivers side tweeter pod.
The body has not been touched yet except for a Spoon carbon front lip ,aluminum GTR spoiler, and carbon fiber mirrors. May replace front bumper for better cooling to Intercooler, radiator and brake ducts. Trying to figure out a way to fit a body kit from a Vauxhaul Astra Touring car but this is the least of my concerns as the body is just going to get chipped up when racing. But I could run much wider wheels which is a plus for grip. All glass is to be replaced with Lexan since the windshield is cracked anyways and needs to be replaced.
Wheel and tire combo as of now is stock 15" wheels and Hoosier R3S03 road racing tires and 16" wheels with Yoko AVS for street. This will all be ditched for 16" TE 37's and Hoosiers for race. 16" or 17" for the minimal street use will be Yoko tires and unsure of rim brand yet.
Well that is the current plans and progress. I will post some pics somehere so you guys can stay updated as soon I figure out where to put them as I am new to this site.

SlickTech,
That is one hell of a project. Good Luck!
As for my car, I was shooting for high 12's with turbo and N2O. I have the N2O, and the turbo, just need a couple different parts. Oh, it is one of the funny looking 4 door ludes.
However, that is being put on hold, because I just bought a B18C1, and am going to turbo that instead. That will be put in the hatch that I am waiting to take delivery on. Then the 4 door Lude will come back.

Wow... your car looks great. Very clean. Great job. I am trying to convice my wife to let me swap in A H22A in her 94 Accord EX but she's not going for it yet. Soon maybe as it only has a few more payment to be paid off. Have to get some more done on my lude 1st though. Racing season is approaching fast.
XsurosisX(Yes our favorite troll) is actually very good with nitrous and after talking with him on AIM, I picked up a new idea. I'm still going with nitrous, but there will be a bit of a twist on it.
Slicktech: You can upload your pics to imagestation and then post them on the appearance forum or ask JG luder if you can post them in here. It sounds like a damn nice project.
