Yes you would need the ECU from an Automatic equipped Civic EX, which should be rather interesting as they were only produced in 90-91.

Bump for some help, as I will probably be doing the mpfi swap in my auto DX soon. I searched for mpfi auto, but didn't get much help. Anyways, I read that all parts need to be from a 90-91 auto Civic EX because of vacuum lines and such that manuals don't have. Is this true? I have a buddy with most of the parts for the swap, but they are from a manual car.

didn't CRX Si's come auto as well. I think as long as it's an Auto. Si, or EX that's the ECU you need.

No automatic SI's to my knowledge. You will need to source an ECU from an automatic EX or an automatic 88-89 Integra.

i've just swap over my 88 lx w/ a dohc zc engine/auto tranny combo.
i bought a auto zc ecu (pm7 ecu w/ numbers starting w/ 641 on second line of serial sticker...if 640 is for 5spd) on ebay. it's running alright but i haven't been able to find info on the wiring for the second lock up solenoid on the auto tranny...so the ecu is throwing a 19 code...uhhhh!!!
let me know if you need more info...

This is the post I was reading about:

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=411366

Can anyone else confirm that all parts (manifold, TB, etc) have to be from an auto car?

It's easy on OBD-1 ECU's, but I couldn't get an answer on OBD-0 ECU's. I ended up just buying a manual PM5 for my auto to manual swap for $20 [I'm going auto to manual but staying DPFI].
