the short answer is no. i've read many reviews about them and the most i've seen gained from one is 5hp...some have only added 1hp.

I dyno tuned mine and I gained 9 hp and 3 lbs of torque. It was when my car used to be automatic. It is stick now, and I did not have chance to dyno it again. I think it is worth. By the way I had about the same mods like you.

the money you spend on it, you can put towards hondata or something similar which can yield better results

you might not gain that much up top but youll b able to smooth out the vtec engangement.

besides gaining hp/tq you can engage vtec at earlier RPM's. a VAFC is basially a poor mans hondata.

Yea, it does the job. Maybe you dont gain as much hp/tq but it is beneficial none the less.

If you can find one for a decent price I say go for it man. I think for the setup you have, hondata is overkill.

ive been told before that if you just have basic bolt ons (I/H/E/cat/) a VAFC will be fine, but once you get into internals and those goodies, you want a more in-depth tune. Overkill would be the word for using hondata on something like this!

changing the vtec rpm engagement is pointless most of the time unless you have different cams, only a dyno can tell what vtec should be at, many times hondata will get you a lot more power vs a vafc, i think on stock engines they can get you 5+ whp, let alone with all bolt ons, hondata isnt much more than a vafc, the ONLY reason anyone should really get a vafc is if they MUST stay OBD II, even then i would go with an e-manage

I agree that Hondata is better in every way, but you can't judge the VAFC solely on peak HP and TQ gains. I have squeezed significant power gains out of my midrange with a VAFC. These gains are not represented in the peak gains. So you guys saying "VAFC is only worth 2 whp!" are not telling the whole story.

That being said, Hondata is better in every way. I own a VAFC, but I bought it like 3 years ago when I didn't know any better. Its really a half-*** way to tune IMO.

You should've bought the VAFC with the money you wasted on the pullies.

VAFC is a way of tuning the car. I wouldn't expect too much gains from it. It will help you tune the computer so that it runs more efficiently.

I would say the VAFC is a great upgrade. I've seen people waste more money on other worthless mods anyway.

Hondata will not work with the ATTS system in the Type SH.
