GM Synchromesh makign trans leak?
ever since I put in GM syncromesh in my 90 Civic's trans it seems to drip whenever I take a drive. I thought my oil pan was leaking but today I touched one of the drips with my finger and it didnt feel like my normal castrol I put in the engine, possibley the synchromesh. Is this possible? Could the synchromesh be to thin that for some reason its leaking out on my trans? I used to use 10w 30 for trans fluid. I also jacked my car up and it was wet around the trans/oil pan area
Could be the Synchromesh...
Strangely enough the GM Synchromesh is harmful to some of the older trannies that were bolted up to LS1's (Corvette/F-Body). It seems to deteriote the paper linings on the blocker rings. The newer trannies have carbon fiber blocker rings, and don't suffer from this.
