replaced Hondata with EMS,, now my tach is all screwed up....
I changed my set up from JRSC to turbo,,, I use to have hondata 2b and my tach in my 01 type R was perfect and normal...
Now with EMS it goes crazy over 4500RPM,,, i dont know whats the problem???
I had a jumper harness with the hondata running a p28,, now i have the same jumper harness pluged directly in the EMS,,,,
The tach is fine at addle and driving .. but as soon as I go over 4500 rpm the tach like drops to 0 rpm then start going up and down,, then stays at 0,.,, and as soon as I go under 4500RPM the tach workes perfectly??
is this a ground problem or a electrical problem???
thanks
Tyler

On your conversion harness, verify that there is a wire that goes from OBD1 A21 to OBD2 A19/B13.

I have seen this a few times on the AEM EMS system where there is an issue with these wires, but what ever you want to do.
well i would feel kinda gettho if my tach dosent work properly... ive invested way too much time and money in my car....
so you think its a wiring problem??
I know this happens if you put the wrong year cluster in the car... but i have an 01 with an 01 cluster! so I dont get it!

What he is saying is not to "leave it alone" but to take his advice and go check it. he posted a possible solotion and to go check it and you said "I'm using the same harness, thats not it"..
He responded by saying he has seen this before and you should check it out..
He was using TACT.
Go check his advice
