Crip, another newbie.
Hello folks, Yes another one needing the basics here. I have done quite a few older american car engine swaps but am ready to do something (I hope ) is going to suit me better these days. Since gas is so expensive I bought a Civic HB. Not a bad body, kind of a beater, but it will be my work car. 300 bucks. It needs a engine 1.5 L. stock. There is a kid down the road upgrading his 93 so he has his 1.6L. pulled and wants 250 bucks for it. DZ SOHC VT engine. I know it fits, I under stand the DP to MP conversion(I think) what about tranny? clutch? axles? Mine is the 5-spd and his 5 spd is also avail. for another 150. I get the jist that this is a fairly common swap. Add 4 wires and my ECU is good right? I know yall get tired of this thread being repeated I just don't see a complete thread that covers all the bases of it.
First step would be MPFI wiring conversion. Run a PM6 ECU.
Second, you want to keep it OBD-0 (pre 92+) if you don't feel like doing all the tremendous amount necessary to convert it to OBD-1, which is what the 1.6L engine you are getting came with.
Third, assuming you have a DX you must keep your tranny and mate it to the D16 block. Because you don't want to convert it to hydro to avoid all the fab work or laying down extra cash for the kit. And since you keep your stock tranny, same goes for axles/clutch.
Fourth, I'm not sure (you should ask or search somewhere) if you can use the intake manifold that comes with the D16 (because of all the emissions stuff on it), so look into that too.
Thats it, bolt it in, wire it up, and let's see whats up.
If i'm missing something ill add it.

I have a PM6. And the harness with fuel rail, injectors if you want it. Of course, it's for a D16A6 and I don't know what the hell is going on about now... it's been a long night.
running a pm6 with vtec is kinda half assing it, you will have to run an rpm activated switch, and your fuel maps will be all in the upper rpms, i'd say get a p28 and an odb1 conversion kit.
