Who here is using the STABLE ENGERGIES Harness bar?
I am looking for a harness bar, and I was informed of this bar.. Is anybody using it? It is listed on the site for Porshe's only, but I am sure it can be used for R's.

Dont use a Harness Unless you have a Roll bar, If you have a Roll bar You won't need a Harness bar
PS You should only use a Harness on the Track, Not on the street.

I don't understand the risks in not bolting up the harnesses correctly and such. Spinal Compression? What exactly can happen in an accident, if they aren't installed right?
Ok, Ill try to explain this.
take a piece of string, tie it to something (around your left index finger)
Now have someone hold a pencil in the middle of the string up from the bottom(apply enough pressure so the string is bent from the pencil pressure)
Now pull the string tight with your right hand... (the pencil will be pushed down)
Thats why your spine will compress..as the belt tightens, it straightens

If I'm thinking about the right one, the stable energies bar is the same as all of the other $100ish bars out there, right? It's NOT the super, heavy-duty bar that goes for $400+. If that's the case, it looks more or less like this:

This bar is designed to ALIGN the shoulder straps of a harness, NOT MOUNT. The mounting point would actually be a secure bolt-in location somewhere in the rear (like the stock seatbelt locations). This way, you don't have the downward force on your spine in a front-end colision. Ideally, your shoulder harness straps leave your shoulders at a horizontal angle, or just slightly lower than horizontal. Most purpose built race seats keep any downward angle from pushing you down while driving, but that all goes to hell in an accident. You need to be able to COUNT on your bar.
Mounting a harness to this bar is a joke, plain and simple.
As for rollover protection, some roll bars don't come with a harness bar (like the AP street bar) so there IS a legit use for stuff like this.

so bottom line is that dont install a harness without having a rollbar?
cuz i purchased Spoon Seats...will they be able to use the stock seatbelts?

Try to lean over out of the way of the collapsing roof when your secured with your shoulder harnesses, without the protection of the roll cage. Then you'll understand!
