Default Max. size compo set for '95 Civic V-Tec E

Sup everybody
I'm looking to upgrade the stock speakers in my '95 Honda Civic but i dont know what the max size of the speakers are that will fit the doors.

It sais 12cm on the speakers itself >> http://scrooloose.org/misc/door.jpg
And if i understand it correctly thats 5" 1/4 right ?
But there aint much good choice for quality speakers thst size and i really want to put in some CDT CL-62 that are 6.5" wich are great speakers.
http://www.cdtaudio.com/classic2000MidDriv.htm
That price isnt really right anymore.... seen the same set at numerous places for less then half the price.

If i go to Crutchfield.com u can choose the car u drive and it automatically chooses the sizes of speakers that would fit and it does say 6.5" as it would fit but i just want to be sure b4 purchesing any speakers

So if anyone can help me out here i'd be very happy

Cheers man.

Here are the "real" sizes of the speakers
Model: CL-62
Frame diameter: 6 5/8"
Mounting depth: 2 7/8"
Mounting hole: 5 11/16"
Enclosure sealed: .3cbf
Designed for perfect performance in (infinite) well dampened stock door Locations.

dept = 2 7/8 inches what would be 7.3cm.....
Maybe now u can tell if it would fit for sure ?

I heard Kickpanels could be a solution for this, where would i get those things for my car ?

</TD></TR></TABLE> If you check, I think you will find that the stock hole in the OEM speaker mounting bracket, [plastic] is 5" or 5 1/8" , and stock depth is just under 2", you can add about a 1/2" if you cut out the back of the OEM speaker bracket, you still need about 1/2 an inch, you can make a 3/4" MDF depth reducer. A ring........ 6 5/8" outside diam. with a 5 11/16" hole in it, that should give you the depth you need, mount the ring to the OEM speaker mounting bracket, [use the OEM 5 1/4" speaker mounting holes or the OEM 6 1/2" speaker mounting holes] countersink the screwheads into the MDF, make a gasget out of Dynamat for both sides of the spacer ring, between the ring and the OEM plastic speaker bracket, and the MDF ring and your speaker, it should work great. 94
