Default How much power can a built k20 make and still be reliable for a DD?

I am debating how to get the biggest punch from my ep3. I know FI will make big numbers and bolt right up, but I like NA and really want the challenge of building a solid k20 from the block up. So I am wondering if I start with a k20a block how much power can it can make and still be driven everyday without any issues?

Thanks for any insight.

No I if I stick with the a3 I will go with a supercharger. I am really thinking about keeping the engine stock right now and building an a2 up from the block and throwing in an dc5 tranny with it.

What combination of parts would I need to run 250 whp and about what would they cost, I am willing to spend some serious cash on this, because I plan on taking my time and building it myself. Also how reliable would it be once built if there was no operator error?

well I've made 260hp at the hubs on a dynapack. with worked K20A head. the head has been on a K20A and a K20A-2 both made ove 260hp the K20A made over 270hp aswell but past 9200rpm. which unless you build the bottom end you wont want to go past 8800.
The head is made up of Crower valve gear and crower stage 2 cams. results and more info can be found on http://www.K20A.org look for my posts on there my name is Non Vtec on that forum though...

So are you saying that an a2 with a really well put together head will put down 250ish whp?
