Default 2.0L gsr vs 2.0L ls

I got both blocks at home and going na. I have a gsr head fully ported with skunk2 valvetrain and stage 2 cams. I was hoping to get some sugguestions with the block. I'm getting benson sleeves anyways and I was thinking to sleeve the ls block to a 2.0 or the gsr to 2.0. Which block should I sleeve? Go lsvtec or straight gsr? any sugguestions would help, thanks.

yea I was thinking the same with the ls crank on gsr block, but I want to sell everything as it. so if somebody buys it, they can just use it without having to worry about anything

im haven the same problem right now. i got the gsr in my hatch and the ls block is outside. i only have one car so i guess i re-sleeves ls block for ls/vtec.

i like to do gsr with ls forged internals tho....oh well it should performs the same.

The gsr block is superior, so I say go with that one. I've heard you can't achieve the same piston squirt angles when you use the Ls crank.... I'd personally want the squirters for longjevity and detonation resistance. GSR block, GSR crank... no worries.

Out of curiousity, what is the benefit of using an ls crank in a gsr block?

the B18A/B crank shaft has a few more MM of stroke over the B18C1 Crank shaft. this stroke adds more displacement to the engine, and the rod ratio is changed which adds more low end torque to the power band.

I've read on here before that the squirters aren't really that necessary. Especially if you run forged pistons, which can w/ stand higher operating temps than a cast piston.

i'd just sleeve the ls block, and get some forged internals, at least teh forged pistons adn some arp rod bolts.

Yea, that is true about the heat tolerances of the pistons, but I just like the added protection of the squirters...even for n/a.... combined with the stock gsr stroke, the engine should last longer. (I considered the LS crank for my current setup too...but stayed gsr).

Use the GSR block. And if you want to use the LS crank, get one cheap at a Pick-And-Pull.

Depends on the application. For road racing I wouldn't go without piston squirters regardless, but in a drag situation where high rpms are only seen for 30secs max squirters aren't exactly needed.

I would go gsr block, gsr crank personally.
