There is no way I should beat this guy....
Alright, I have a 94 GSR. It's full interior exept the back seats. I've take out my A/C and P/S. Mods I have are a chipped p28 ECU, small 2" collector header, exhaust, drop in greddy filter, skunk2 IM and JG TB....GSR Tranny.
My buddy just bought a white 92 hatch from a friend of ours. No interior but the 2 front seats and the dash (no carpet or panels). GSR Motor, Skunk2 IM, stock TB, J's Racing intake, JDM 4-1 2.5" collector header, high flow cat, exhaust and a Type R Tranny.
We raced 6 times or so. I'd say I pulled on him slightly 3 times. and DEAD EVEN the other 3 times.
How is this even remotely possible?
Also, the other day I raced 2 different RSX-S's, both had all bolt-ons, and beat um both too....I thought GSRs weren't this quick.

Next time you race switch drivers...or cars, however you wanna look at it lol.
I did this under simular circumstances a long, long time ago and when we switched vehicles I still beat the other guy no matter which of the two cars I drove.

There is such a thing as a "miracle motor" and it sounds to me like you have one in your car. personally, I would not buy a car that was already swapped. You have no idea how it's been driven, how healthy it is or anything. I would reccommend doing a compression test for your friends car, really go through the motor and make sure everything is good. after that, yes.....some gsr motors are turds, he might have one.

I think that is next on the agenda. I should probably do one in my car too. Haha I had to put 2 quarts of oil in it cuz I was low.
Count my blessings I guess if I have a "Miracle Motor". I guess as soon as we do a compression test, we should find out.

Because that is a huge load of crap. The only "miracle" would be that someone maintained his motor and crapped on the one sitting in the hatch.

i personally thikn that the 94 gsr are the most common of the "miracle motor" not its not a stupid fast motor ive ran into a couple that are just way to fast for the mods they have ..hard to explain ..i know obd 1 plays a roll as well as how it was mantained but some times it just doesnt make sence
as far as maintaining it....
The first owner was an older adult who took real good care of it.
2nd owner. A guy from high school who was just sick with it. No joke, I've seen the guy wash the car with bottled water...just to give you an idea of how picky he is.
3rd owner me.... Oil change every 2 thousand miles. I run up the RPMs when necessary but I'm not poppin VTEC every street light. I want make sure the motor last.

No, it is true. i have seen it on the dyno enough times. Some motors just do far better than others. Out of the box. The worst I have seen is and over 20 hp difference between two 30K type-r motors that I personally service and work on. It is said that out of 10 factory motors 3 will be sub par, 4 will be as projected, and 3 will out perform....don't ask me where the hell this came from. What I do know is that some just do better for reasons that I can't explain.

Thankyou for backin me up man, I have seen several motors just flat run extremely hard for some reason.....can't explain it

I believe in this 'miracle motor' theory.
I have a friend that is running consisten 14.2s in his stock JDM SIR Integra with only H/I/E done. Car's stripped, no sound deadening or carpet. Even ran 13.7s with slicks and a good track.
Then he decided to rebuild the motor for some reason. Got new rings, etc for it. And after that he can only run 14.5s... Trap speed is considerably slower too. And since then, he had to resort to getting ITR cams, and raising the compression a bit to get the same performace as before. Maybe the engine lost it's "MOJO" after the rebuild? Things like these are difficult to explain.

carbon buildup raising compression.
when people use seafoam they always complain they feel like they lost power.
