Default New exedy clutch doesn't fully engage/slips

I just installed an Exedy 3-puck clutch and a Fidanza flywheel.

Here's the problem:

When the clutch pedal is completly let off and in first gear or reverse the car moves but it's obvious that the clutch slips a lot. I can let off the clutch quickly and the car won't even jerk or stall.

What do you think is wrong?

A mechanic I know suggested lowering the material where the pressure plate bolts onto the flywheel. He thinks the problem may be that there might be too much distance for the clutch to engage completly.

Is there a possible that the clutch isn't completly engaged due to the clutch slave master cylinder? Meaning the throwoutbearing is always pushing a bit on the clutch?

is that how it was immediately after installation or after driving it? It is possible that the face of the disc is glazed. Also, did you resurface teh flywheel when you installed the new clutch?>

think of it as brake pads... if you put new ones on and go flying around heating them up real hot and dont let them break in they wont last as long/function to its highest capability... also... when you put new pads on an old rotor, it tears the pads up and creats premature wear and shitty stopping..
