Default Valve Cover breather line... what to do with it?

K, 93 LS-T running about 6 psi daily... I didn't think it was a good idea to connect my valve cover breather line to my intake seeing that it would force air into the valve cover under boost... What are you supposed to do with it? Put a little breather filter on it and call it a day?

That's an interesting question, never thought of that before.
Any takers?

Run a dump line or a breather filter etc.

you just put a filter on it or leave it open. you can run up to 15psi on a stock pcv system without a catch can.

Read dasher's thread about crankcase ventilation...

Here ----> https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1199935

Then you can figure out which route you want to go.

The stock PCV system is NOT okay for boost, you need to modify it or you will damage your engine.

how do you figure? Many factory turbocharge cars use a pcv system similar to what honda uses.

Factory turbocharged cars have different PCV setups than factory NA cars like Hondas...

The PCV valve normally opens and vents the crankcase pressure when there is vacuum in the intake manifold... as soon as there is positive pressure in the IM the PCV valve closes and you have no crankcase ventilation anymore.... zero crankcase ventilation under boost is a bad thing...

If there is something I am missing let me know. I have been reading a lot about this lately and trying to learn as much as possible.

I did the method of using the intake from the turbo to the valve cover..to prevent nasty stuff I put a inline fuel filter...works very good..the casing of the fuel filter is clear and so far I can see all the crap that gets sucked out from the valve cover and gets trap in the fuel filter and prevents it from messing up my compressor...

I'm a retard. I've been wanting to put a catch can b/w my turbo inlet and the valve cover but I never thought of one of those clear fuel filters. THANKS!

I'm wondering if a check valve would be overkill.

You pretty much hit the nail right on the head. Reading dasher's thread is the best place to start.
