ahhh forget those guys...they painted my buddy's EG and actually, the paint looks okay but they didnt even bother to fix the door dents and there are parts that came out a little wavy...he paid around 1800 for a complete color change ...You are better off going somewhere else...whati find is that most of these bigger "known" shops like 20/20 and Body Slows, oh i mean Pros..hehehe will do a nice job if it is a full tilt show car of if u are a freind of theirs...but if u are just sum joe shmo walkin in, they wont do as good of a job. If all u want is a spray and not too much custom work, Take your car down to Collision Masters in the City of Fullerton...get an estimate, but if you decide to have them do it..Make sure Gabriel is the one who paints ur car..he is a good freind of mine and he does kick *** work...His work puts these big name shops to shame...

wtf? with that quote and they didn't even bother fixing the dents? the reason i'm asking is because they quoted my brother $6 freakin' grand for a championship white paint job on his mister 2 along with shaving the moldings and straightening out an already installed body kit.

did your buddy go back to them to have them remove the dents and straighten out the flaws that were overlooked?

btw, thanks for the info.

6 grand????? just to paint a car, shave the moldings and fix a kit??? that is sum bullpoo poo....Yes, after we got my homies car back, we found that they didnt fix the dents so we took it back to 20/20...they whined about it and didnt want to fix it..they said that since they already painted it the car, they would have to re-do the panels with the dents and they wanted to charge him more...Thats why i said forget those guys...Head down to Collision Masters in Fullerton...Talk to the owner of the shop...His name is Roger Cram, tell him that Ray with the red 92 BMW 325i sent u. Fack 20/20 and tell those fools to take that 6 grand and put it up their ***..

Go to the PJ Bonaficio (sp?) paint shop in City of Industry I think. They did that S13 Silvia in Super Street and the owners own Hachi Roku both look bad ***.

yup, like i said, if its a car that will be in a magazine or if its a friends car and of course, the body shop owners car, the job will turn out right....I had a homie who had his ride painted there too and it was the same lackluster work(bondo scratches and wavy paint...same goes for Body Pros...Yes, i know i'm knocking alot of shops but its the truth and ive seen it first hand, many times its better to go with a good body shop that not too many racers know about...Alot of body shops that arent known in the import circle turn out better work than all of these "known" shops like PJ, 20/20, Body Pros. Another good shop is Performance Auto Body in Torrance. They do alot of high dollar 50's and 60's car restorations, import guys dont know about them either but they are another place that does killer work that blows all these other places away.

good info. i'll keep those shops in mind when i want/need to paint my car.

what you're saying is very true. many of these places rely on their big names from publicity in magazines and advertisements from sponsored vehicles at car shows. and with their name they don't care as much about the quality of the work because they would turn out that one perfect car out of the bunch for a magazine cover which will draw more business to their shop.

sorry for the rant. as you can see, i'm not a big fan of body shops.

you're welcome....I'm just tryin to help a fellow enthusiast...I've been into this scene for a very long time and Ive seen crap work from all of these body shops that many people know about.....I am very picky when it comes to paint jobs and i cant stand these places charging an arm and a leg for lackluster work...Keep those two places in mind, those are two places that I trust when it comes to paint..Good Luck !

The best places to go are the places with old guys that fix up old classic cars...you can't go wrong with them...just ask them a lot of questions too...

They were charginhg me $3K and more just for a paint job. They said that it depends on the kit and all sorts of poo poo. I got a budget job instead and saved my money for performance mods instead.
