i would just take it to 7500 rpm...peak power tops off at around 7000 actually rpm (from my dyno plots)...the factory tach is off about 200 rpm...if u go past 8000, the rev limiter kicks in
the reason to take it to 8000 is because, yes, your power is declining, but its probably close to equal to the power of the rpm of the next gear you are going into if you shift at 7500. so the power will be around the same, but when you take it to 8000, your next gear will be higher in the powerband range (will be in vtec) which will be more hp.
Either bend a valve
Snap a belt
Wear electical parts
Oil heats soo much is doesn't protect - cylinder walls grind metal to metal
Not very smart bro... Be careful!!!

I have done it when I want to go very fastI have heard the fuel cut off is actaully at about 7700rpm, and on my tach, its not till 8200, so the engine is reving as high as you might think. I wouldnt do it all the time, just when racing.

If your not hitting the fuel cut when autocrossing, you're not racing. Go home.
7600 is fuel cut, which is indicated anywhere from 8000 to 8100 on peoples tachs. Don't worry about it. If your tracking it all the time and hitting the fuel cut and running it on the edge, I would start to worry about it, but a few times doesn't hurt anything. It sure doesn't sound pretty, though.
