d16y8 mini me surging issue
ok i have a surging issue i need fixed.
i have a 90 honda crx si with a y8 mini me swap
D16a block
00 y8 head
stock injectors
00 y8 intake manifold
chipped 90 crx si ECU
vafc
i installed the swap a couple days ago using my stock SI IM but when we first did the swap we forgot to remove the oil jet, and had the timing wrong. So we pulled the head back off and pulled the oil jet and i decided that i wanted to use the y8 intake manifold instead due to the better flowing ability.
we extended all the required wires and hoses, fuel lines and what not.
The car starts right up everytime but thats where the problem starts, the car constantly surges from 1500-2500 no matter what i do.
trouble shooting done already:
swapped MAP sensor
replaced PVC
checked all vacume lines
none of these fixed anything, and the problem is not related to the throttle c able because it does all this without the cable hooked up.
so any suggestions or fixes???

Spray brake cleaner around your intake manifold. If the idle hops up you have found your vacuum leak...or you can close off the throttle body mouth with your hand and see if the car chokes out (while idleing). If not you have a huge leak.
i'd have to say clean your iacv valve or fitv... or if your an idiot like me... check if your tb gasket is on right... mine was surging till i noticed the gasket orientation...flipped it over and started up perfect... good luck...
my 93 civic ex (d16a swap) didi the same thing cold, or fully warmed up check your tps position!, if its not adjustable then its the factory tps get a replacement from your local parts store! hope this helps
