HKS FUNNY NOISE.......
All right all you HKS SSQ owners my bov is making this bubblely flutter sound when I let off at lower rpms (1000 to 3000 rpms).. It sounds pretty gay. Do any of you think that tightening the HKS adjustment screw would make a difference? It didnt do this till just recently. I checked for loose clamps. I found nothing. Anyone with suggestions?
Just play with the 10mm bolt till it sounds ok to you (turning the bolt in tends to kill some of the flutter at low rpm, low boost but every car seems to sound a little different)
hope this helps

Ok now Im confused....... Two responses say tighten. One says loosen. I guess try'em both??? From what Ive found out about compressor surge so far is prior to the bov opening up you hear a metal like sound, I only hear this sound when I'm letting off the throttle. Imagine if you will light throttle release and you hear underwater like bubbles being released. Thats what I'm hearing at light throttle

High pitched "woosh" sound? Like it's supposed to?
If so you can tighten the bolt up a bit if you really want. Sounds like you BOV is doing what it is supposed to. HKS SSQ is noisy at atmospheric pressure/the edge of positive pressure.

After visual inspection and hitting the throttle at idle both the primary and secondary valves open if you tap it to like 2000rpm. I Thought the secondary was supposed to open under a heavier load/boost???
How about trying to adjust the little 10mm bolt? I mean, all this posting and blah blah blah'ing and you could have walked outside, adjusted it and tried it out.
