Spoon Sports Camshafts, Cam gears, and High Tension Timing Belts
Anyone have spoon sports camshafts, cam gears, and high tension timing belts? If you do, where did you get it, and was the but worth it? Also...if you have a spoon flywheel...was that worth purchasing?
I had spoon cams, and I to be honest was not impressed with them, I like my JUN 2's much better, but like the saying goes ask 10 differant people get 10 differant awnsers

a must if you are running B's and if you run stiffer valve springs...will just last longer. spoon flywheel i love mine..i would do either spoon or toda flywheel...

I'd say go Toda or SPOON flywheel because they are chromoly, and not cheesy-*** aluminum like some of the other cheaper alternatives. I do not trust aluminum - sorry, but I've seen the boltholes wallow out and cause some nice damage in the clutch/flywheel combo.
I understand your point of chromoly being stronger, I was just making a point that most say TODA< JUN< SPOON, because of the name and nothing else.
also Fredenza is one high quality aluminum flywheel, I have never heard of a bad experiance with it.
but to agree with you somewhat I would not want to be my passenger if the bolt holes do go, and a flywheel comes ripping towards there legs at 8000rpms

Spoon does have them but they are not for sale . Ask Spoon what they use back at 92-93 races Gr.A class .
I find this dyno plot very interesting considering everyone here seems to shoot down the Spoon cams! VERY few SPEC-B equipped cars and fewer SPEC-A equipped cars can come close to this!
This plot was located on the dynocenter website!

Spoon cams are almost the same as Toda A's. Spoons look to have a little more duration but the Toda's have a little more lift according to the info on Allmotorhonda.com.

I might add one very significant observation about the SPOON dyno plot: look where the peak power is, between 8200-8400 RPM. Serious power can be achieved even with a relatively low fuel cut off.
Obviously it is all about tuning, but using that argument only proves that you don't know what you are doing! The fact is these cams can be made to work!
