just finished reading 85 topics under search, my eyes hurt. didn't really find what i was looking for. how is the brake pedal feel with spoon calipers? i know they have better modulation, but do they make the pedal feel any stiffer than stock? is the brake pedal travel longer?

Brake feel isn't about what kind of caliper you have... its about having the lines well bled and functional (= not broken) parts like the master cylinder......
But when you spend that much, sometimes people swear to improvements that are just not there.
I've driven the spoons on track (don't own them) and there is a difference, more modulation everyone says, but whatever it is - its very nice and adds some confidence while braking. Around town? Felt like stock calipers to me, except everyone LOOKS at your calipers now! Wow, $1200 for attention!
Seriously though, caliper upgrades, especially when you have ITR calipers to start, are really useless unless you are on track or really just want attention. You will get: more even pad wear. That IS a plus under any circumstance.
Pedal feel??? Regardless of what type of brakes someone had, if they had bad pedal feel, my first comment would be "Bleed your brakes y0".
edit: i do not agree about 'normal driving conditions' on the link above. If you can tell the difference around town you must be driving like on track (not sure how this is safe unless you are braking on a deserted highway/road to take a turn or whatnot, which.. makes up what, 1-2% of my driving time?
) or making it up

Brake pedal feel can be improved by removing deflection in the system....including stiffer calipers/brackets/SS Lines/b00ster/minimize air entrapment in fluid/etc...

What is a 'stiffer caliper' ?
I agree about the others you listed for sure.
I dunno, well bled ITR brakes have awesome pedal feel. Can it get *better* than that strictly from pedal feel?

A caliper that has less deflection for a given force, in a given direction.
I make no claims that a "better" pedal feel improves ones braking distance, but the ITR brakes can be improved on, sure.

I have them on my R, firm pedal feel from stock, only problem I had was, when spoon built the calipers, they had a sealant around the bleeders, but some got clogged up in the bleeder hole, so there was air in the lines when I bled them. Got it fixed and loved them ever since. Chris N is right though, if you aren't going to do any track events, dont bother getting them. The stock calipers are perfect on the car already.

I think Marc meant that Spoon calipers made him stiffer...... which might be tr00.

sure, but aren't we specifically talking pedal feel?

Take the b00ster out and the feel will improve significantly.

It'll be rock hard, but won't effort be extremely difficult as a result?
And isn't there more to it than just removing the booster? I remember reading about this somewhere a while back but I can't remember specifics or if it was even worth it.
What did Realtime do? I think this is what I remember reading about.
Me = who is still trying to adjust past learned heel-toe to Real heel-toe after the purchase of driving shoes.

Like the example with putting a JDM front on your car if you get in an accident being the only sensible reason to do so;
I would only shell out the cash for these if my front "clappers"
went bad (I had to replace a rear one this summer and I'm definately not a fan of the non-core-trade in with the ITR brakes, guy said theres too few of them
).

Huh? We're talking about Caliper A vs Caliper B and which has better feel.

wai's comment interests me. i was actually thinking they would be softer than stock since the fluid volume inside the spoon caliper would presumably be more than the stock caliper

hence better modulation
