Hi,
I am new to this forum so please don’t "kill" me day 1! I have never owned a Honda product before, but know quality when is see it ... So, last week I acquired a '05 Accord Type S (17" alloys) without test driving it.
Are there any know issues with these vehicles, thing to check etc. I am also looking to fit a K&N or BMC high flow air filter but am unsure about warranty issues. I have been warned that Honda is quite strict on stuff like this.
Any way, great car and looking forward to thousands of trouble free miles.

Pretoria? I think(?) your Accord is not what we get here in USA. I think we get your car as an Acura TSX. So check here about most engine stuff, but be aware the car body is different. Our Accord is bigger, I forget what it's called over there? (Maybe Honda Inspire?)
Honda can't deny warranty unless they show your modifications actually caused the problem. But that's because US federal law doesn't allow them to deny it. We don't know what your warranty is, & most guys here don't realize it can be different anywhere else.

JimBlake,
Yes, Africa is correct; to be more specific South Africa. I did a bit of searching and the Type S and TSX are the same cars indeed. I will route all my queries to the correct forum.
Thanks for the response and info on the warranty will do some local investigation.

theres little to no activity in that forum......teh USDM 4cyl and the TSX share the same engine (different heads), and so theres still alot you can get out of here....plus, its sill an accord

Feel free to ask engine & driveline stuff here, only be aware that body/interior stuff is different.

like the other guys have said, rules are a little different over here. best bet is to just call a local dealership and ask away. i know that, over here, if you modify i/h/e, they completely void the engine warranty. so definitely do your research before bringing your car anywhere near a dealer with your intake on. gl!
