Hondata low and high iginition ? Newb

Hondata low and high iginition ? Newb
Can someone clear this up for me.
low cam ign rpm 's start 500 and go all the way up 8000 rpm
High ign rpm's start start 525 and go all he way up 8500 rpm
I thought low cam ign was just suppose to control, lets just say 500 to 5200 but instead it goes from 500 all the way to 8000 The same for hi cam ign I thought it would start at 5200 and go up to whatever you make your red line, lets say 8500 but instead it starts at rpm 0 all the way rpm8500 .
1.Now my question is why are vtec maps like this ?
2.Is this just to make it easy to adjust vtec point?
