Default So... Before and in progress, here's my sohc soldier!!!

Well guys it's that time finally i actually been wanting to do something like this making a thread of mines..... the first set of pics are the BEFORE

and the second set is the progress of NOW.... until im done you'll get to view my after and completion... enjoy!

My setup before this pics was taking the morning of California's speedway race day

At the race tracks on the Lenso's

The last run i got to pull a 13.9 run before i went home.... on the way home my friend calls me..... "Dara your car is blowing light smokes......"
my setup during that time was
D16z6
Skunk2 Intake Manifold
Stock internals
Head was milled 0.040thous
stock block
act pressure plate
clutchnet 3 puck unsprung
ACT 9lbs flywheel
revhard turbo mani
turbonetics T3 .57trim iono what the other specs are
DSM side mount intercooler

so the next day i woke up and start the car to move around my yard its really blowing smoke now.... leave it alone until i find time to tear it up..... day comes by, out the motor she goes!!!! and i start to tear down everything, finding out my bearings are scortched and heated, worn and chipped.

the block torn completely in-n-out

Oh my here's the rest of the motor....

Alone she sits and awaits, for a better vital signs and productivity

here are the things sitting and waiting in the car that i managed to take apart
yipee new luggies thanks Tommy!

the snail thats buried and waiting for another strike of action

Something smelled funny and strange, i opened my door and found these guys just chilling....

JRC 6"'er fmic

its suppose to be a pic of my skunk2 intake manifold (sohc yes)... can we say... TOP END?!??!?@?@@?#? and the dsm 450cc's injectors

Today i went to Camp1320.com and visited TOM awesome guy who runs the shop by himself as if there was 5 associates in the shop and came back home with these guys......

And then UPS and USPS came in today when i came home for a bigger combo!!!
Vitara pistons with hastings rings std size from FJT thanks!

full rebuild gasket kit from BADGUYNY!!! and profab intake mani gasket from camp1320

from BMCrace.com new T3 5bolt DP flange

somebody got along together nicely eagle rods+vitara pistons

last time i just checked my trunk i found these guys chilling

to be continued.... more of setup going back together and the drop in..... save those extra $$$ if you can and grab some snacks for the after results

-dara

So i'm guessing the rings were put on the pistons just for pictures right now? Or is block already honed and you did the gaps before you sent the stuff out.

Anways... i have a z6 i'm doing about the same with... looking forward to getting it out on the road. I'm hopeing in another week or so.

the rings are properly installed how they are... but its just sitting there, the block is not ready to be put back together yet, the block is going to get honed and stuff its at the machine shop at the moment. gaps are to be worked on once im ready tp assemble everything back together... patience= the happiness of life

by the way!

the crank is not supposed to be layed sideways
everytime u handle a crank, it needs to sit on its bottom...(where the flywheel bolts to)
