i know im a moron....but i would not have any harness straped to me without the proper mounting points in place... aka a cage with a horizonal cross bar so you dont crush your spine in the event of a major accident .

I've got one of these, just using the stock belts for now.
Though I've got two sets of Sparco 6-pt belts ready to bolt in.
Prpbably just use it as a fancy camera mount for VIR.

The Topic was just a joke, I have a 3rd SR3 in my office (No I dont use it as an office chair) And I took a pic of the takata harnesses on it when I put them on their, Just wanted to see if I like the Christmas colors together that way.
I am debating on Installing at least a 4 point bolt in cage on the 98 and using the takatas, But I might just save them for my 2000 ITR Which will have a full Roll cage, similar to Warren and Adam's.

Mike,
I hate to rain on your JDM parade, but that's just not safe. What would happen if you're a little too
in your desk chair and happen to lean back too far? In a normal chair, you can slip out sideways or curl up into a ball. However, if you're in that harness, it points your head straight toward the ground
Get a roll bar on that puppy! Better safe than
*edit* jeez, people are taking this thread so seriously. I thought it was a joke

lol, look familiar:

Good choice in harness bar! I love this thing, however the weight is kinda high, but the price I got it for made it totally worth it.

Mike can't sell that chair cause I farted in it too many times. I went up to his shop twice and I OWN that seat...
Another Natural Gas Man on this board. Nice pics of the office. I wouldn't mind one of those for my car. I also wouldn't mind a recaro office chair in my room.

Also, can you have both a 4-pt harness and the oem seatbelts installed and usable at the same time? I don't mean buckling them both up at once, but the oem for daily friving, then the harness for the track?
Actually the harness bar has 4pts it mounts to. One on each B-piller, then one on each bar that connects to the lower stock seatbelt hole. Also I have 2- 3" 5pt harness not 4pt. And yeah I still use my stock seat belt. Its the law.
Where can I find more info on that brace? And what is the chance that it could be installed a few days ahead of a track event, then removed again? Am I smoking crack?

The harness bar is around $399-500 depending on the options you get.
The camera mount is around $100
The harness (5pt Sparco are like $189 or so each)
The fire extinguisher is like $100
All in all the total kit for the harness bar, 2-5pt Sparco harness, 2- Sparco mounting hardware, camera mount, fire extinguisher, etc... is like a $1100+/- pending the options you want.
Its not that hard to remove or install once you do it a few times. Also whats cool about it is the lower side bars are adjustable to raise or lower the angle of the harness bar to better position the harnesses to your seats, etc...
Oh yeah I should have mentioned its drill free, however I did notice that after time it does mark up (scratch) the interior plasic panels around the mount points on the B-piller, and it can also dent the pastic pending the position you set it too.
