Handling/Normal Driving Problems
Some backround info:
I had owned an 88 DX for daily driving, until i found a mint 91 HF.
Sold the DX, picked up the HF.
With my DX I had plenty of driving confidence in the car, for ex. : I could maintain highway speeds normally with one hand on the wheel, corner "fast" for a daily driver crx, ect. ect.
With my HF, I have lost total confidence in my driving. The turn in steering, (slight movement in the wheel to do minor turns, lane changes - Give zero feedback to the driver. There is no resistance in other words, until you turn the wheel about 1/4 the way, but it still turns. Anytime i hit a bump while on a turn, the whole car moves on the road, which if in a realtivly fast speed, makes for a disturbing feeling.
Overall, i feel like the car is not stable like a "NORMAL" car should be.
When driving in snow or ice, i feel like the car will slide off the road if i go ver 25/40mph. I cant even drive highway speeds in a normal storm. The tread on the tires is fine, (just passed inspection).
I had just ordered brand new tires, and I will be putting them on tommaro, but my question is, what else could it be, that my "NICE" HF is so much less of a comfortable driving car than my POS DX?
Possables :
Alignment, Causing bad turn in/out?
Shocks, Springs Blown?
Swaybars? (Does the HF have any F or R (compared the DX ??)
PLEASE give me your input. If the tires dont fix, im going to get it aligned again i guess. ( It was done by the prev. owner)

my hatch was like that when i got it too. i'm sure all your balljoints are worn, and your bushings may be too. the HF has a smaller front sway bar, and only the si's have rear sways, but that wouldn't make it unstable. good luck, i know my upper control arm balljoints, lower control arm balljoints, and inner and outer tie rod ends were shot and it drove just like you said. my bushings in the front end were still decent though, and after replacing those things (and of course alignment) it drives like a dream. now i'm going through and replacing all the bushings, hoping to make it even better.
