Default Idle bounces

When I first got my car the idle was perfect just below 1g now it sometimes bouces up and down and it goes dangerously low, but other times it just sits perfectly at .7grand, this is somthing that if i were to take it to shop it would idle perfectly and soon a I leave it would act up again. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated I have tried resetting the ecu and it didnt work.

you've most likely got a vacuum leak, my friend shaun has a 91, and his idle bounces, b/c when he put the master cylinder back in, he did not put the o-ring on there. check if there are any hoses loose from their connections or missing. It may also be your tps(throttle position sensor), but I doubt, cause the idle would stick. In my prelude when I come to a stop, my idle sits at 2000rpm, for about ten seconds then goes back to normal.

Mecca, dont worry about the O2, its probably not it. Here are a few things to consider because i had the same problem and now its fixed.

--when was the last time you had your car serviced and how many miles are on it?

--if you dont have your car serviced, when , if at all did you perform and routine maintence to it?? and what??

Once those questions are answered then i can better tell, but im pretty sure its the same problems i have had. Nothing major, just routine stuff.

first--plugs maybe, but probably not.
second--PCV valve replacement. ITs a cheap part, dont worry about it, just do it. http://www.ahmotor.com I think thats the site. honda/acura replacement parts. All OE parts so quality is top knotch and they are realy helpful.

3rd--fuel filter. cheap part. Again, can be done solo, but can also be alittle messy but not bad. order from the same place. I think your bill will come to around 25-30 clams. That should fix the problem.

Well when my car hit 78k I replaced the Distributor cap, roto, plugs, wires, fuel filter, cleaned k&nfilter, replaced my fuel filter and I also replaced the pcv valve. Then when my car hit 80k I took it to the dealership and had the valves adjusted. I really appreciate any help thanx Maxx
