Default Wrist pin removal without damaging the piston?

Have a set of p72 pistons/rods and a set of pr3 pistons/rods. Want to put the p72 pistons on the pr3 rods and the pr3 pistons on the p72 rods..Seems simple enough. Every local machine shop ive taken these too has stated that they won't be able to remove the wristpin's WITHOUT damaging the pistons. Ive heard of plenty of people swapping oem pistons/rods before and never thought i'd run into this issue. Am i on crack or are they just stupid?

Yes and no.

Lube the pins with oil when pressing out. Then have the pin bores in the piston checked for roundness and straightness and correct roundness by having them kissed with hone really quickly.
