Default Race this weekend... easy way to increase rear springrates?

I'm assembling my new motor like a madman this week trying to get everyting in the car and tuned by Sunday so I can make it to a BOTI race. One thing I don't have time to get is stiffer rear springs.

Can anyone suggest a way to stiffen the rear springs cheaply? I only need it for one day on the race track.

TIA...

Get rear springs with higher rates?

There's no magical way to get higher spring rates without getting a higher rate spring.

This is a drag race not a autox. BTW...

Anyway, I guess I was hoping that there was somethingI could get to effectively stop the spring from compressing as much.

I realize that getting springs with higher rates is the ideal thing to do, but I do not have the time nor the money at this point to do that...

stick blocks in between your springs.

disclaimer: i never tried this, and not recommending it. just an idea, it for sure will stiffen your springs, but not sure if it would be beneficial or not damage anything because i have no experience.

You could try limiting straps on the front suspension instead? And get the crossmember polyurethane inserts to avoid wheelhop... maybe easier than trying to increase rear rates.

i thought i read about some sort of poly insert for doing exactly what you're asking. search this forum, the thread is fairly recent and has a link in it.

Tyson and bad-monkey: This is what I'm looking for, thanks. I'll search around for that thread.

raene: I made a set of limit straps for the racecar, but it just streched the cables I used. I believe I will need to run a set of those nylon 4000lb straps a few people are selling on here. Comes back to the time and money thing. I'm already stretching it trying to finish my block assy (it's at the machine shop right now getting a hone and balancing the bottomend) and getting it back together, the car dialed in and tuned by sunday for this race.
