i was thinking about getting a 96-ish cbr or gsxr....600cc either way....if i can get one for 2 grand or under, with 13k miles or under, is this a deal, if they're both in good cond.? i wanna get a good starter bike, and i figured a 600 was good al-around (also looking for low loan payments
)

Don't finance it! If it's only 2k try to save up, cause you'll be pissed if you lay it down or wreck it and still have to make payments on a broke dick bike. Plus if it were me full coverage insurance would own my ***.
I paid 3k for my '94 CBRF2 it only had 5k miles on it, and a brand new paint job. Good Luck!

Definitely 96-ish cbr for under 2 grand. Good luck finding a deal.
you dont need full coverage for 2k or under at my bank, which is cool...
i was thinking of financing a bike at the local shop here...39 a month for a new CBR for a year (trade it in and get a new deal in a year
) or 49 a month for a new ninja for 2 years (then trade it in for a new plan as well
) and i dont think either one requires full coverage insurance...so thats pretty cool...

yeah we're looking at the new ninjas...we can get em' for 49 bucks a month, for 24 months...but by then i'll either sell it and pay it off, or trade for a new 49$ plan...i'm goin to school in a year and a half so i'd prolly just sel lit and pay it off.

Umm I hate to be the guy but I think that the 49 dollars a month may not be for you. I don't know how far you looked into it but 49 dollars a month at even a good interest rate of 4.9 will only pay the interest on the loan and at the end of two years you will probably still have the full amount of the loan to pay and that's if you get 4.9% and most these dealerships offer 8.9% and up.
If you must get a loan go through a credit union and expect payments 150 and up for even 36 month loans on a new bike. Not to burst your bubble but too many young guys get into trouble with enticing loans like this and other gimmicks likes no payments for a year crap.....
If you must finance go through a respectable credit union. And I would get full coverage on a bike regardless.
ooh and I won't even touch on the depreciation of the motorcycle at trade in time. That amount will just get tacked onto the next "49$ plan".........
just do a little research now and save yourself some money and your credit on down the road.
