Well you can't expect too much from bolt-ons. They will help un-restrict the flow of air through your engine, and maybe even make a cool sound, but you will not be the fastest person out there. w/ a b18a, you could go all-motor, but the cost > hp in my opinion. Just save up, read up, and go turbo.

to the wheels? 5-10hp max. bolt-ons dont add up to much but it will help your car breathe.

those are just rich people talking... sounds good to me idk an exact number but u should feel an extra pull from that..

i suggest getting nicer pulleys, do some weight reduction, racing tires, better than stock clutch + flywheel, and add some bling bling effect just for some future ideas.. that stuff shouldnt be tooo expensive and u can probably do them urself

im doing all the same **** to my 90 teg.. im 17 im not rich so that stuff does the trick for me and my first car.

definitely save some money for maintenance though.. were old skool

I would recommend getting cams first thing. Fairly cheap, and will add some nice power.

this guy probably doesn't have an LS motor. cams will cost you quite a bit, look for about $800 or so if you do it yourself. you'll not only need cams, but you'll need an upgraded valvetrain as well, and with older engines, you'll also need to rebuild your cylinder head, as well as the gaskets you'll have to replace along the way.

if you want to go cheap, get a 49-states legal converter from ebay for like $50, go to an exhaust shop for a 2.5" exhaust (because they bend it poorly, it will flow like a 2.25" exhaust, so go w/ 2.5") for <$250, and get a used DC sports header for like <$200. also remove the snorkel from your intake. now you've spent only $500 and you've made some power.

if your engine is in really good shape, you may see 10-12whp from all that; if your engine isn't in very good shape (from revving it all the time especially), you may only see 5hp. after that stuff, you can save up for cams and valvetrain.

PS i have a nice AEM aluminum oversized power steering pulley for sale, check my signature.

I'm 18 and in no way rich, I'm just speaking from experience because I've spent over $1000 on a car that got totalled. I did an intake and exhaust, and I'm doing i/h/e again, just for simple driving. Honestly though, for the price of a header and for the price of heading in the all-motor direction, you're better off saving up and doing something big like a turbo kit.

It's not the most expensive route if you do it right, and you will feel a lot more than the simple bolt-ons. Sure weight reduction and a better breathing engine are gonna be fun, but as any car enthusiast, you will want more. You will start to realize that your car isn't as fast as most of the other ones out there, and wonder where to take the next step. I'm just trying to help someone think ahead... because I didn't.

Just to make the bends better you can find a shop to sell you mandrel bent u-bends. I'm doing this for my 2.5" and this way they just cut them up for each turn (i think you only need 2 or 3, cuz that equals 4 or 6 90º turns) and mount your exhaust up w/ nice bends. It's a tiny bit more expensive, but better in the long run because you can keep it if you upgrade your power substantially.

idk all motor isnt really a beginner job and it is really expensive... u gotta lay all the money down at once and make sure u get the right engine (its a big investment) if u want to keep it simple then u should stick with some of the things i said earlier..

getting a new motor would be pretty sweet but im not ALL about winning the race.. my car isnt a racecar.. im just doing little mods here and there to keep it as far from stock as possible. i want to lift up the hood and see an intake header pulley not just look down at a bare engine... but the choice is urs.

i am anti-exhaust. the only exhaust i would do is header. the rest just makes ur car so damn loud.. my friend got pulled over twice (summons) for having a loud muffler. plus if ur a little bitch like me u'll get a headache sitting through that deep exhaust sound.
