What about one of these?
I know it will be a bit over $40k new, but some low mileage examples are starting to turn up on ebay being sold by guys who didn't realize what they were getting theemselves in to...

I voted for the Mitsubishi.

If some reports are true, they may not be as dead as perviously thought...

Especially since they are ready to introduce the EVO IX. Granted the car is evolutionary (no pun intended) but if Mitsubishi was in dire straits, why develop any new products (especially "race cars" that will account for maybe 5% of ALL vehicle sales) until returning to the black?

Just my .02

If snow is an issue, I'm not sure why you're considering an s2k or a 350Z...I voted STi.

only reason 350z is in the mix and because it has traction control and stability control and limited slip, so with snow tires, it would be ok in snow

the s2000, im not so sure about

I know 4 people with EVO's who have had HUGE problems with them.

Everyone seems to ignore the fact they are junkboxes and look strictly at how well magazines love them.

The fact is alot of them have problems. Everything from paint quality, transfer cases, clutches, brakes...

The Evo IX is a rebadged and exterior enchanced Evo VIII MR.

Are these stock Evos? Or modified ones. Fairly stock Evos actually hold up very well. My friend's mildly modified Evo hasn't run into any problems in the 2 years that he's owned one so far.

350Z can't even compare with the rally sedans. The level of engineering behind the MR or STi is on a completely different level than the 350. My friend that owns a 350Z actually has VDC and traction control problems and his car is completely stock @_@. Plus it's using a cheap viscious LSD vs super advanced and intricate AWD systems.
