H22A1 N/A Brand NEW. White Smoke?
Hey guys.. I know some of you have been following pieces of my buildup here and there on my N/A H22a1. It was finally installed and I got the car back today from R&D Dyno and a shop they work with out here in CA.
The engine has been sleeved w/the Darton MID sleeve kit, Bored to 89mm, Wiseco 11.5:1 Slugs, Eagle Rods, balanced and cleaned everything, and new water pump as well as oil pump. The top end saw a 5 angle valve job, new honda valves, valveguides, spings, and crower titanium retainers. The head is not ported and the cams are also stock... (for now). The block was decked and everything was made perfectly flat for a perfect fit.
Well, I got the car back today and my friend driving behind me noticed I was blowing out a little white smoke when I got a little on the gas. And when I say a little on the gas I mean it. I didn't go over 3500RPM. I also got the wonderful joy of having the engine light come on.
The smoke is a small amount but I'm thinking there shouldn't be any smoke at all.
The car has an Injen CAI, DC Headers, Vibrant High Flow Cat, and Greddy Evo II Cat Back Exhaust. Is the smoke just not being filtered out which is what we were seeing? Or am I actually seeing something going wrong like buring coolant or something? The head gasket is brand new so I'm guessing that shouldnt be the problem.
I do know I can't pass smog, i failed today, mainly because of the bigger bore and high compression. So let me know guys... should i be freaking out?
