Can someone do a Carfax for my friend? He's curious about his old ITR that was Stolen
As the title states,
My friend was the original owner of ITR-0410, and got it with only <U>8</U> miles on her.
Anyhow, 01-410 was put up for sale in 2002 and my friend was framed and the car was stolen the next day.
With that in mind, he has stayed away from the whole hobby in general..as like any of us...was really attached to the ITR. And unfortunately we have idiots in life that dont have any idea how to work for anything in life, to ruin it for legit people like all of us in this "hobby"
Anyhow, after talking to him..he found his original window sticker..and put his vin in Carfax..and it says there is <U>6</U> reports?
He is just curious, if #410 was ever found..
Can someone run this Vin# for me, So I can give my friend some closure?
thanks

heres the only pics I have of her..

Jay was pretty pissed about it getting stolen too, considering just a few weeks prior..he had put some goodies into the already healthy ITR motor..

</TD></TR></TABLE>well the "kids" committed to buying the car..and later that night (without even thinkin about it) found out that his autolock keys were missing ..as he left them in the autoloc in the trunk of the car. Well when they were looking at the car...My friend remembers that one of them stayed by the car, while the other was with my friend and he was showing him all of the stock parts to the car in the garage.
Anyhow, next day..the car was gone..and My friend never heard back from them...and later found out through the grapevine..that these kids paid someone 1500 to steal his car
The things that people do these days, for something simple as a car...reallly amaze me

and the buyer didnt even bother to get any form of ID from the kiddies? or a telephone number?

</TD></TR></TABLE>Well, it was quick and spontaneous. My buddy put his car up for sale, some people called from a blocked number to come and look at it and then committed to buying it the following saturday. As far as the I.D...I personally have never asked for I.D when selling a car..but maybe this should of been the case where it was entertained
But then again, lets just be greatful that only a "car" was stolen..and no one was hurt.

Without a carfax account, you can go as far as his friend did - type in the VIN and carfax will show how many reports there are. It will not go into any detail on those reports.

If what you say is true, I'm glad my Carfax account is ending soon.
Because the freaking car comes up clean (everything WTF), and a new (second owner) was reported in 2003.
First title issued 01, four services until 02, new owner 03. Somone rebuild this car maybe?

Thanks for the report KOALA YUMMIES, do you think you can post the report here in this post?
Thanks..

Would email work? The report is like 8 pages long if you print it out. Salvage, truth in milage, accident, all that all came up clean surprisingly.
And for the question of whether is 100% correct I can assure you it is not. The accuracy of the information of the dates it listed the car having reports on it are, but accident conditions are met if they exceed certain damages or if police reports are filed and everything is rather complicated, but it all looks good when the little window pops up and says "yay no problems found" which is all a load of BS.

in 2002 i wrecked my old tacoma pickup. $8600 worth of damage, damn near totalled. i went through insurance, had the truck patched up then i traded it in. just for ***** and giggle, i carfaxed the truck and it said nothing. at that point, i gave up hope on carfax. when i bought my latest vehicle (chevy suburban) the dealer offered to give me a carfax. i declines, and went over the truck myself, soup to nuts.

</TD></TR></TABLE>however, I do prefer doing one if I get a car...cause..you never know. And a majority of people do run carfax, and if your car happened to be the one that was reported..it could very well be detrimental to the value of your prized possesion
