EGR and check engine light is there a bypass or workaround obd2,h22a4
yeah most ppl on here have egr problems, i have a skunk intake manifold on a 99 prelude running obd2... theres no problem with the car .. no limp mode no nothing, is there anyone out there that knows how to bypass or has a workaround for the egr? i wanna trick the ecu, cuz the light is getting extremely annoying. So far, i've only come up with a resistor.. does n/e one know where i can get this resistor?.. thanks to everyone! please help!
okay thanks to "xthephil" he hit me up w/ this link http://www.zzperformance.com/products1.php?id=176 .. i'm gonna try it out hopefully it works.. haha
Another good thing about having an ECU sim like the one in the link I sent you is that if you happen to get another CEL you'll know it.
Like I said earlier though, not sure if the one in the link is the right one for the prelude. The site is apparently for the Pontiac Grand Prix. Look around for a site that sells one for the prelude and you'll be fine

I have the exact same question except that the CEL is more than just annoying. My EGR CEL code P1491 disables the ATTS system on my Type SH, which I do not want. So, I can either remove the intake manifold and go through a proper cleaning, or I can cap the valve and/or electrically "fool" the ECU into thinking there is sufficient EGR flow. If the second option is easier, I'd prefer it since I do not have to worry about emissions in my locale. I realize this particular thread is rather old, but does anyone have some information that can help me? A general "egr bypass" search on honda-tech.com did not really yield much.
