Default should i get a carbon fiber lip for my 5th gen???

hey everyone. I have a 01 silver prelude and i am considering buying a VIS OEM style carbon fiber lip. What have ppl experienced with VIS OEM style lips as far as fitment, fading (cus i live in so cal), pricing (shop i usually goes to is offering $285 and tells me it is "grade A". is this a good price?), and how does carbon fiber hold up when scratched. because from what ppl have told me, one scrape and the whole damn thing will shatter. If this helps at all i have stock rims and eibach's with a 1.3 drop. because of this my car isn't very low but im a little worried im gonna **** up the lip even tho i am already careful when i go into driveways. Any advice or pictures of this lip would be really helpful Thanks!

i would say go for it. thats a decent price for a cf lip. as far as holding up, carbon fiber is very durable. put it this way. i got in a wreck a while back and my whole front end was damaged bad enough for a stock hood to crush but my carbon fiber hood only had a small crack on the very front.

I haven't really heard of anyone with problems with that lip. As far as breaking/cracking, I heard its more vulnerable. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. But I dont know if its gonna hold up if you accidentally go over a speed bump too fast or something. Anyone w/ this experience?

i know peeps with 5gens with vis stuff and their fitment is near perfect. i didnt know that vis made a cf lip for our cars, i know that seibon makes 2 cf lips though. oh and yes be careful, cf can shatter, but u should be okay, the oem lip isnt that low.

285 for a oem lip is a tad much. with 60 more dollars, i could get a oem 4th gen VIS hood delivered to me and i am getting A LOT more material

hey man, dont get the CF lip unless you dont really drive your car that much. Ive had buddys with them, and you go over that one blind bump at night, or you hit that one curb you cant see, and it'll crack. Get a poly-urethane front lip, you can bend the **** out of it and its still fine. Try to find some flex paint that matches your cars color at a shop and walla...
