How to install type R wing on GSR... How to close up old holes!??? HELP
Ok I bought my spoiler from Spoilerdepot.com had the holes predrilled for my gsr and what is gay when I got it the spoiler doesnt cover the gsr third light holes! gahh.. how do I go about closing them up? I went to the body shop they said 1 grand to close holes WTF. What or how do i go about doing this? I need plugs or something? but that would look shity.. please help.. THanx
get a hatch off of a rs or ls that didnt have a spoiler and ur set. oh and r u selling ur gsr spoiler? if so what color and condition is it in? let me know and i might be interested in it. oh and what city u in
whats up dude, your either gonna have to plug it ( doesnt look bad imo ) or get a new hatch, or get a bodyshop to fill in the holes. Personally i reomoved the stock spoiler on my 97 LS Sedan and plugged it with some black caps i got from Lowes, it doesnt look bad to me, but my teg is Cypress Green Pearl so i think i might look better with darker colors, just my .02 cents, Good Luck
what are those black caps called? i went to lowes and the guy didnt have anything that would work i asked him for plugs or something to pop in ahole about quarter size.

vtec_joe i have a 98green gsr spoiler. and i have holes from my type r wing. lemme tell u wut im doin n how much its costin. well first off it costs less that $30. get JB weld, small metal strips, bondo, touch up paint, and some sand paper. take the wing off when u do this, i havent done it cuz its been cold n all. first sand down the paint right around the holes but u need to tape ir off to keep it clean cut. pull the panel on the hatch down(its just clips) and put JB weld on the small metal strips and stick it to the under side of the hatch. its a tight fit tho so practice how u gota do it b4 u JB weld or u'll lose it. ur gunna have to hold it where it is for about 5 minutes so it can start to hold. i have electrical tape over the holes for now, this is where im at. but then use bondo w/ plenty of water handy to make a smooth surface over the holes, this is wut i tihnks gunna b the hardest part. keep water by so if u mess up u can fix it real quick. once the bondo dries just give it the touch up paint and ur good to go
well i went to home depot and they were just rubber plugs, they had different sizes in a little bin somethign i foudn odd is that i thought both holes were 7/8 well on my car the right side one is 7/8 but the left is a lot smaller. Also when you buy the plugs they are way way too big so you have to cut them in half or they stick out and wont sit flush with spoiler. i just ended up putting black electric tape since my cars black but ill get a shave job done once i get more money.
what should the body shop do? fiberglass?
Cause i went to the body shop today and they said 1 grand to weld up those hoels and paint. They said it would probably warp or something and they would need to repaint the whole back trunk and **** i was like wtf! wtf are u smoking.. gay.. theres no way 1 grand is worth a spoiler but i doubt it costs that much anyone know of a place in Orange county area that can do a good job for cheap?

If you don't care about looks, I suppose you could try grommets. I remember going to Kragen Auto Parts to buy hose clamps and seeing a little section devoted to HELP! grommets in various sizes.
EDIT--Could only find the "hole" grommets, not the plug kind ... whatever those are called. I suppose you could still stop by and check, though.
