I have a 89 crx si, and as most of yall know they are heavy as **** b/c of the seat belt stuff. I was wondering if anyone has taken the seat belt stuff out and weighed it. I want my door to be atleast the same as the 88's are, so I am just making sure that if I do this it will be same weight. If not i reckon ill have to obtain some 88's or 89 hf. Thanks,Jason

 

There is approx. a 115 lb diff between the 88 si and 89 si so I figure a large part of that is due to the change in the seat belt design.

115? i dont know thats heavy, i didnt think i was lifting that much weight when i had them off, ^ive seen the fiberglass doors but those are for the offroad drag racing purposes, trying to keep it street legal

There are no frame supports in the 88 doors for one.. they weigh in about 10-20lbs lighter

 

any pics of the two stripped?

 

im just trying to find out if taking the selt belt contraption of my door will make it atleast the same weight as an 88. If not do you know of anyone who sells the doors that is cheaper than passwordjdm.com
