How in the world do you get the transmission back in???
you just gotta jiggle the **** out of it are you useing a jack or man power? once it gets close enough about 1/2 at the most you can stick a few bolts in a suck it together. i just put a new tranny and clutch in my freinds lx by my self. oh yea put grease on the shaft to help it slide in better. you just gotta make sure the dowels line up.

yea lots of wiggling and man power, also get a few bolts lined up and it should slowly get easier.
When i did my clutch me friend taught me a trick... a couple of days before we planned to do the clutch, he took off one of the bolts that hold the tranny to the motor. went to home depot and purchased a bolt with the right thread spacing and size, comparing it with the one u took off the tranny, making sure that the bolt is longer than the one you took off the tranny. then cut the head off the bolt you bought and cut in a little slit so u use a flat head and screw it in.
then when u have the tranny off and ready to put it back on, screw the bolt u made onto one of the holes on the motor, and slide the tranny on, hopefully u bought a long enough bolt and it should be sticking out, once u have a couple of the the regular bolts holding the tranny to the motor unscrew the homemade bolt. This make it a lot easier than tying to aligning it by eye when lifting the heavy *** tranny.
hope this helps

Also if you removed the clutch/pressure plate make sure to re-align them with the clutch alignment tool. Other wise you just need to keep wiggling it and it will eventually slide in.
Ok i got the transmission in now i'm having problems with the axles. I got the axles in but it doesn't look like it's in all the way still a little gap between the transmission and axle. Any ideas???
a gap like 1/8" is okay. Try to pull it out with your hands (no pry bar). If you can't get it out, and/or you hear a click when you try to pull it out, that means its seated.
It's lined up. If i look in the axle hole there looks like something is blocking the way??? Any ideas???
Maybe the splines don't match up at all. Are you sure you are using the correct clutch for the year of the transmission.
What I would do is count the inner spline count of the transmission and the clutch. If they match up then just keep turning it until the transmission and clutch mash together. If not, then just buy the clutch that fits the transmission.
1988 = 21 spline (200mm diameter)
1989 = 20 spline (200mm diameter)
1990-1991 = 20 spline (212mm diameter)
Make sure you are using the correct flywheel to the clutch.
Good luck,
Jon
